The guy that is calling the shots on player personnel decisions wants guys with off the field issues
A head coach always has some say, particularly with cases where you're just bringing in a guy to give him a chance. And as for your last statement...were you being sarcastic?

I think it would be a low rish high reward..a 5th should do it and if he doesn't make the team or stay clean cut him..but id hope Kelly can change his life around and has a father like bond with the kid bc he has amazing potential..and the niners get a steal..

yeah your correct..the cap hit is 6+ million..so the best thing would be him getting cut and wanting to join his college coach for cheap...

A multiple time offender with loads of talent, sounds familiar. I don't believe the organization would take that risk two years in a row.

His play doesn't warrant the risk. If you gonna take a flier on a knucklehead at least be sure he can actually contribute

Did Miami only play him at DE? He always struck me as more of a Manny Lawson type, a guy that you actually want dropping back into coverage.

I imagine the Dolphins are going to cut him and save the 3 million to use for Vernon. Dolphins don't have much cap space and new HC Gase would probably want the sure thing in Vernon over Jordan. No way I see them keeping both.

No thanks-cap hit to much for an unproductive player who keeps getting in trouble. If he comes in after being cut on a prove it deal then okay. Otherwise rather take a chance on a diamond in the rough 6th rounder (we have no 7th).

Loved him coming out of Oregon and thought he'd be DROY. If we could get him for a late round pick hell yeah.
