Free agent ILB Desmond Bishop will visit the 49ers on Monday.
Bishop only saw the field twice last season, mostly playing on special teams. The Niners are desperate at linebacker after losing Patrick Willis and Chris Borland to sudden retirements, so even a backup like Bishop is worth a look. The 30-year-old signed with San Francisco late last season after getting cut by the Cardinals.

They should just make a new NFL expansion team for LA with these players.
We can call them the Los Angeles Rejects.

Lol. Might as well. Crowd files in late in the second quarter and leaves midway through the third.

Great points from MB (as always):
Trent Baalke covets compensatory draft picks like Spanish kings once lusted for gold. The 49ers general manager has two in the upcoming draft -- fourth- and seventh-round selections -- but is looking at a potential bonanza for 2016.
As of now, the 49ers could get three extra picks next year with the possibility of a fourth should free-agent Michael Crabtree sign elsewhere. Compensatory picks are based on a ratio of the number and quality of free agents a team loses versus the number it signs the year prior.
Compensatory picks also could explain why the 49ers may wait to sign any more free agents until after May 12. This year the NFL moved its traditional June 1 free-agency deadline date back to May 12. That means that any free-agent signed after that date won't count against a team in the formula that determines compensatory picks.
For example: According to a league source, the 49ers continue to have discussions with free-agent linebacker Lance Briggs after signing linebacker Desmond Bishop to a one-year deal on Tuesday. If the team signed Briggs this week, he likely would cost them an extra draft pick next year. Wait a month and a half and the 34 year old from Elk Grove will not cost them a pick.
The same would go for free-agent receiver Hakeem Nicks, who like Briggs and Bishop, worked out for the 49ers on Tuesday.
Baalke is looking at a number of inside linebackers, including Briggs, Erin Henderson and Philip Wheeler after losing two highly regarded players at the position -- Patrick Willis and Chris Borland -- to retirement. Henderson and Wheeler would not count against the 49ers in the compensatory-pick formula because they were released by their previous teams. Bishop doesn't count because he was with the 49ers at the end of last season.
And Baalke does not need to rush to fill the position. First, the team has two starter-caliber inside linebackers in NaVorro Bowman and Michael Wilhoite as well as reserves like Bishop, Nick Moody and Shayne Skov. The 49ers also are looking at inside linebackers in the upcoming draft.

I believe it's 2 Comp picks for 2016 right now.
Cully and Cox would net us a 4th and 5th.
T.Smith cancels out Iupati, while Pears and Wright cancel out Gore and Skuta.
Crabs would net us a 3rd pick, likely 6th or 7th, unless someone actually gives him good money.

Pears and Wright won't cancel out Gore and Skuta completely. Gore and Skuta got paid way more and we're more than 1 year deals. We probably have 3 at this point

Uh Yeah they will, they are in the same APY range.
Pears got a 2yr deal worth $5.7M, and Wright 1yr $3.2M, even 1yr deals count. Look at OverTheCap.com, they have a great breakdown on it.
And there is no such thing as them not canceling out someone completely. The key things to know are that they determine the comp picks based on Average Per Year, not Overall value, and how many quality FAs you lose compared to how many quality FAs you gain, so right now it's like this.
Lost:
Iupatii - $8M APY
Culliver- $8M APY
Cox- $5M APY
Skuta - $4.1M APY
Gore- $4M APY
Gained:
T.Smith - $8M APY
Wright- $3.2M APY
Pears - $2.85M APY
Because Pears and Wright are closer and close enough to Skuta and Gore, thus meaning they will cancel each other out.
