Plenty of depth players available in FA still and I'm sure he's eyeing some dudes in the draft. We'll be just fine.

I'd call him and try to get him locked up first. If that fell through, call Ronaldo McClain (is he really reformed?) or Colin McCarthy (can he stay healthy?). I'd than call Baltimore and see what it'd take to get Arthur Brown, former 2nd rounder who can't seem to get any playing time. But was great in college.

I like Mason and he would be a quality pick up. I played against him growing up.

Yes, graduated from Seaside High. Not sure about the below source but I found this (it appears this source is in Monterey, which is right next to Seaside):
John Devine @JohnJDevine: While the Bears continue to be the frontrunner for Seaside grad Mason Foster, the 49ers have expressed interest after losing two linebackers

I hope this is true, 9ers D needs him.

Nice we have some cap space and if we can get him and Moore I'd be pumped!

I seem to recall this kid being a very good prospect coming out. He's not an athletic freak, but he's tough and agile. I think he could bring more to the table than a Brandon Spikes and he may be a young long-term starter that could do more than an adequate job next to Bowman. Signing him would allow us not to panic and select an ILB within the first 3 rounds of the draft.

2nd worse grade by PFF of all ILB' available. BUT, it depends on how we use him or envision him. As a backup? As a push-starter? As a starter as a TED or MIKE?

I wonder why he has gotten no offers yet. He is a good ILB, so maybe he signs.

Would he play the TED for us (i.e. defensive fullback)? MIKE (rangy, sure tackler, etc.)
