AJ really never fitted in Greeb Bay's 3-4 scheme... he's played MLB all his 4 years at Ohio State...
I really thought that he was the next coming of Brian Ulbrich.. .

Sign a 32-year-old, lost-a-step LB to a team who won't be good for at least 2 years?

This. By the time this team gets back to competing for a playoff spot this guy will be even older, even slower, even less able to contribute.
He was a backup for the Bengals and even after Nutso got a microfracture procedure they still sent him packing.

I would rather see if Curtis Lofton or Donald Butler can rebuild their careers with the 49ers than sign Hawk. IMO

True, either of those could work for us, and after the draft and no bites in FA, dey probably come cheap.

Hawk may be serviceable as Bowman's garbage man.
