As expected, this contract is back loaded. Shields gets a $12.5 million signing bonus. His base salary in 2014 is $2.5 million. In 2015 it is $6 million, both 2016 and 2017 are $9 million each. He will be 28 in 2016 and will either be cut or restructured at that point. Realistically, this deal was 2 years for $21 million. Still as ass ton of cash and still messing with the CB salary structure.
