So Gabe Carimi was just released by the Buccaneers. Carimi may legitimately not be that great but Lovie Smith probably just didn't want him on the team after seeing how he contributed to the Bears OL's overall terrible performance.
A 2011 1st rounder that may or not have been truly worth his selection. Does anybody think it would be worth the coaches time to sign him?

Hell no, he was HORRIBLE with the Bears. This team doesn't need another Chilo Rachal, even wors, Carimi is a drama queen that the Bears couldn't wait to pawn off on Tampa Bay.

I can't get that MNF game, when Aldon absolutely humiliated him, out of my head. He gave up something like 6 sacks total that game lol.
He flat out can't play tackle in the NFL, not even on the right side. I wouldn't mind letting him compete for a guard spot. Camp fodder deal where he really has to shine to earn a spot.
Geoff Schwartz is another big, mauler type guard we could look at. We had interest in him a few years back IIRC. Signed with the Vikings instead. He's a west coast guy too.

That is exactly what I think. I figured it would happen with Wisconsin OL players being overvalued by scouts. Their cohesive play as unit plus having Tolzien then RW and several college-elite RBs made all of their OL look better than they were. But I wouldn't mind bringing in Carimi on a minimum deal and seeing if he could be a backup/extra blocker and earn a roster spot.
Peter Konz has had to flip flop between RG and C and has been inconsistent since entering the league
Gabe Carimi bombed out of Chicago
John Moffitt was inconsistent and lost desire to play and just retired.
I'm officially scared to draft Wisconsin OL much like Carolina DL scare this entire forum. lol.

I feel the same, that said, Travis Frederick did play pretty well for Dallas after they got blasted for "reaching" for him.

Which is oh so ironic but to his credit he was one of a few bright spots for that team outside of their RBs and Abberderis(sp?).

No way.
Kwame was never beaten like a drum the way Carimi was on that Monday Night at the 'stick.

a guy like this has threads made for him on various team forums based solely of his rep before being drafted. nothing he done since being drafted leaves you wanting his services.

Poor Cutler. Most underrated QB in the league. The 49ers line use to be that bad, and the QB's payed the price. How Cutler can even get up in the morning is an absolute mystery.
