Right to the point....Would Golden Tate be a fit for the 49ers?

We went after Rio in 2011, a WR who was cast aside by his team and he was MODERATELY successful with us before being injured. I posted that NFL talking heads are saying Tate may be in similar situation, cast aside to make room for huge deals for Earl Thomas, Sherman, and even Wilson.

We could potentially be looking for anything from a #2 (if Boldin isn't retained) to a #4 (if we lose Boldin and/or draft a WR to compete with Patton). I believe that Tate may find the market to be quite soft and could do fairly well for us, especially if we are using him as stop gap to let Patton and likely another rookie develop.

Thoughts on him as possibly Niner?

Just another average WR
No. We don't need someone who celebrates after every 3 yard gain
nah baldwin is their star, golden tate nothing that special
i say sign Tate. He'd do better than Manningham and Patton.

Also at the same time you weaken your rival and can get the inside scoop on their schemes.

Just have him tone down his celebrations.
how much would he go for? if not too much, maybe
Yes
isnt he a returner too? lmj is on the way out...

Yeah, and he was one of the few guys who burned our special teams.

Yes, he returns punts and he can run block. Hate him as a Seahawk, but objectively wouldn't mind him as a Niner.

Wouldn't mind him but he can get more from a team like Cleveland or Carolina.
He's a good player. Would fit with most any team, but will be overpaid based on what his team did this year.

Don't want him anywhere near this team.

I agree, Baldwin makes a lot of 3down conversions and gets the big plays but as much as I hate to say this, Wilson makes them all better than they are, hence why Kearse can score TDs like hes their star player and not their #5 WR. Add all the WRs you want but if Kap is only lookin at Crabtree, he's gonna be irrelevant. Tate will just end up like Braylon Edwards, Moss, and now Manningham, an overhyped signing that will not meet our expectations. Sometimes I wonder if Boldin woulda ended up the same way if Crab never got hurt and they never built the chemistry.
No thanks.

I want Walter Thurmond off their roster. We need a Corner that can cover the slot with Carlos Rogers on the way out.
