#Chiefs QB Alex Smith has 14 completions in preseason. 12 to RBs & TEs. 2 completions to WR (both McCluster). Bowe 1 target, incomplete.

So is this why Baldwin has not had a good preseason or has he just been not good?
it's not just that, he hasn't been contributing since he got drafted

Belichick told Dimitroff that Jon Baldwin was just as good as Julio Jones in @michaelsholley's "War Room"

Might be an apples to oranges thing but Kap hasn't thrown many passes to WR's either. Granted his PT is lower but still.
It's weird.. The big knock on Baldwin is his hands but that was his biggest strength coming out of college
Well, a bust for a bust. Interesting.

Baldwin had several targets in the last pre-season game.
A couple right in the numbers, just couldn't make the catches.
I would bet that Baldwin is atleast cheaper to cut than AJ Jenkins. But I'm not too savy when it comes to the cap.

OVERVIEW
Baldwin is giant wide receiver that has the potential to develop into a starter at the next level. He is a speed builder that can get behind defensive backs and he quickly finds the ball in the air. He is a weapon over the middle, as he has strong reliable hands and the body control to make acrobatic catches in traffic. He is dangerous after the catch as he can run away from linebackers and over defensive backs. Baldwin has to refine his route running skills, but he could sneak into the first round due to his freakish measurables.

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Baldwin is a huge receiver with deceptive speed. Long strider that can stretch the field and shows the ability to consistently track the ball in the air. Possesses excellent hands and high points the ball very well. Strong runner after the catch that breaks arm tackles and flashes a vicious stiff arm. Fearless over the middle.

WEAKNESSES
Sloppy route runner that struggles to separate from quicker defensive backs. Takes too many false steps in transition and does not always find soft spots in zone coverage. Does not have enough wiggle to make defenders miss in the open field. Not exactly a willing run blocker and will occasionally take plays off.

OK. If this is true, it ends the big debate. But, it probably starts another one.
7/29/2011: Signed a four-year, $7.552 million contract. The deal included a $3.992 million signing bonus. 2013: $1,061,510 (+ $130,000 workout bonus), 2014: $1,274,765, 2015: Free Agent
This move had nothing to do with talent and everything to do with getting rid of a lot of dead weight while incurring minimal salary cap penalties. Well played Baalke, extremely well played.
Hahaha we traded little aj Jenkins for big aj Jenkins.
based purely on production, we domintated this trade plus I remember reading that Baldwin was starting to show flashes near the end of last year.

Baldwin would cost over a million to cut. Not gonna happen.

I don't know how it could backfire since Jenkins has done literally nothing for the team so far. Jenkins couldn't even do anything in preseason. It was probably getting close to the Eric Wright situation for TB, where he was going to get released unless they could find a trade partner.
