This.

He has size, but doesn't use it to his advantage.

The only reason he makes the squad, and he will, is primarily because the Niners want to show everyone that they got the better end of the Jenkins trade.

He looks, and is, sluggish. He did drop two very catchable balls, all excuses aside. Watching Jacobs make the same catch look routine that Baldwin made look like it would have been a highlight catch, had he made it (of course, he didn't) leaves one just shaking their head. There's a reason Reid (whose hardly a dummy) let him go for a scrub.

A more deserving candidate will not make the squad because of him and eventually he will separate from the Niners. So, doesn't matter.

For the short term though, watching him and Williams make the squad over a couple of the others who the Niners have to cut will leave a bitter taste.

Over the longer term . . . meh.

Are you seriously suggesting that Baalke and Harbaugh will agree to keep an inferior player on the team and possibly jeopardise the season for the sake of their ego's, to show they got the better of a trade?

SMH. In spades.

True, I think they have proven that they are all business by letting high profile guys go and/or cutting them. Taylor Mays and AJJ come to mind as far as Baalke is concerned. They don't seem to care about your draft status but only for what you can do on the field

Boldin, Patton, Moore, Baldwin, Hawkins and Williams if we keep 6.

If we keep Hawkins, we don't need Williams. Hawkins is a better fast version on Williams.

When Crabtree and Mario come back, what then?
Crabtree, Boldin, Mario, Patton, Baldwin, and Hawkins?

We have TOO MUCH talent!

Williams is faster than Hawkins.
williams is made out of paper. hawkins looks like he can take a hit and hes pretty damn fast too. patton also looks way faster on the field than his timed speed. those guys had angles on him and he smoked em

Williams is a muscular guy who is very strong on the run, Hawkins is actually weaker. So I disagree on that part, but I do trust Hawkins as much as Williams in the return game.

Williams is indeed faster though. Just not the best route-runner.

A.j. Jenkins stumbled and thus was late to the spot so Daniels was picked of by the packers. I am glad he is gone. Quinton Patton come on down.

The only thing I've seen that he does well is use his size on high passes...particularly on the sideline routes. Not sure what the two of you are seeing but perhaps my memory is faulty. Don't think so.
