give him a break, everyone knows it takes three years. its probably still his hammy . how do you know what he can do if you do not give him playing time.he is cursed ( i will never forget that one i tell you what)

Nah I'm done giving him breaks. I agree it takes some guys a couple years to be consistent, but it shouldn't take 3 years to show you have a pulse. Watching Patton and Baldwin, with limited preparation, do more last week than AJ ever did made me realize how bad he was. I agree AJ is cursed tho. Bad things happen when you throw his way.

Patton would disagree that it takes 3 years. Just took it to the house.

No there was a few that are regulars and from what ive seen great fans. But some fans are still a little more paranoid then others.

Baalke and Harbaugh work together. Do you think Baalke could guard his reputation when he has to look Harbaugh in the eye every day? Harbs would cut off his right hand if he thought it would give the team a better chance of being competitive...and you want to try to save face? One of the biggest things Harbaugh brings to the table (and this is what people who want to write him off as an a*****e miss) is utter integrity about making the team better, not just an attitude but a culture. And Baalke is a big part of that culture as well.

Yeah, I agree. Kyle should not be our #2. Baldwin, Patton or Moore should move ahead of him.

This may be a really fine group over the next few years...Boldin, Crabtree, Manningham, Baldwin, Patton and Moore compared with
Edit--keep forgetting Williams:)

2008: Bryant Johnson, Battle, Morgan and Hill
2007: Battle, Gilmore, Jacobs, Jackson, Lelie and Hill.
2008: Bruce, Bryant Johnson, Battle, Morgan, Zeigler and Hill
2009: Morgan, Bruce, Crabtree, Spurlock, Hill, Jones and Battle
2010: Michael Crabtree, Ted Ginn, Jr., Josh Morgan, Kyle Williams.
2011: Ginn, Williams, Crabtree, Edwards, Morgan and Swain.

So much...blah!

gosh, 2007 was sooooo brutal...

no wonder I was pushing for us to sign david boston back then
Free Ashley?

And folks were saying..."It's the QBs fault!" How many of these receivers have careers to talk about now? Any of them first or second guys? Ever? What a long wait for a decent receiving corps!

I don't know what Baldwin will ultimately bring to this team but the 49ers sure did get the best of the trade.

I watched the first half of the Chiefs game tonight and Jenkins had two pathetic plays. First play from scrimmage he tripped, lost his balance, almost fell and Chase Daniels pass went right into the arms of a GB defender for a pick.

Little while later Jenkins was running a go route down the sidelines, stuck out his left arm to use as an arm bar against the defender and did not have the strength to pull it back in when a perfectly thrown ball hit him on the right hand. With both hands free he makes an easy catch.

Haven't seen the second half yet, and hate to camp on this EX-49er but I'll just say again, the 49ers got the better of the deal.
This trade just keeps looking better by the day...or game. I still can't believe we got him. Note that announcers did mention the decking of Baldwin by a vet last yr, but we heard it was a sucker punch, making for bad blood....and Andy had to get rid of it. Getting our # 1 pick and getting Baldwin out of the locker room were more important than the net $2.7 mil we came out better on( or close) and the fact Baldwin has caught some 40 passes in last 2 yrs. with doo doo for QBs.It really makes me feel bad for Andy and Chiefs, but bad blood has to be fixed....so they did, to our great gain. A really good reason to have a good relationship with other coaches like baalke and jH do. Wow!.

Baldwin caught everything Colt threw at him except one heater, too soon, which was behind and really fast. Best anyone could have done was to touch the ball and Baldwin did. He looks like a consummate pro.

I must have seen a different Baldwin than you. He dropped TWO catachable balls, one in the end zone. The announcers erroneously said a defender got a hand on the potential TD pass, but I don't think he touched it. Baldwin just didn't make the catch! I think, at the pro level, if you get your hands on the ball, you catch it. Touching it and not catching it is inexcusable, and we're not talking just the fingertips either. They were in and out of his hands, and I believe he has one or two a game like that. Frustrating. BUT, we still got the far better of the deal. No question.
not every game is going to be great...

Very true. Right now, Baldwin's attitude is the key to his making the team.

If he has a good attitude, he should make the team, and would get time to develop.
Is Baldwin eligible for the practice squad? I think we should cut him and put him on the ps.

He's under contract and he's one of our better receivers even if he hasn't shown much so far.
