Nnamdi Asomugha was a 49er

(I like Aso, by the way)

He has been going up against a lot of the number 2 WR's though. Jordy Nelson, and being on the outside a significant deal with Carlos moving inside where we play him a lot.

I honestly hope Brock comes on so strong that they both play like #2 CB's competing with each other and Carlos can just be a decent slot cover guy. I think our coverage has actually been pretty good this year. Pass Rush in the two losses from the DL was lacking way more than coverage IMO.

Yeah, playing LCB definitely matches him up against opposing teams #1s and #2s.

I couldn't have said it any better. PFF is frickin annoying as hell!!!

Does anyone knows how much times QBs throw on his side? Maybe QBs are afraid to throw his side which is good enough for me, thats taking one wr out of the play. I think Asomugha is doing fine, he just needs to wrap up on his tackles.

Wow, good call... I always forget that Rogers shifts to the slot so often. I feel so stupid now! And I know playing Aso to the outside is playing him to his strengths. My bad, CullyInTheHouse!

In three games he has seen 11 attempts, but 9 of them were in week 1 against the Packers. I honestly think Rodgers thought he saw a major weakness, but quickly learned it wasn't as easy as he though. Now, Asomugha allowed four catches that week, but on a few he was in off coverage and wanted Rodgers to complete a pass. The only problem was, he was expected to make the tackle. It didn't happen on one play to Nelson which led to a TD.

Against the Colts he wasn't thrown at even once which was good to see. When Asomugha is in press coverage, hard to throw at him as he completely throws the WR out of rhythm. On a few of his jams, he has tripped the opposing WRs to the ground almost LOL.

i actually really like brock ever since he got a chance to play. he makes some mistakes but i think he can be groomed into a starting CB. all in all i think our cbs are playing pretty well considering were short the best passrusher in the league and our starting nose tackle

he's been good, just too bad he isn't getting any younger. it would be nice to lock him up long term as our #2 CB

People are mistaking Good Corner play based on Int's , fumbles, and passes knocked down and so on but Nmandi hasnt been thrown too as you would expect from A CB who was supposedly the worst their could be.

Hes met expectations which werent high to begin with.

If the 9ers make it to the post season, he will play a major role with big receivers the 9ers will likely face

Falcons
Seattle
Eagles Dallas

So looks like Brock will indeed get the nod against Houston and likely for the rest of the season.

Our coaching staff doesn't treat FA veterans with injuries well ala Edwards and Jacobs. I think Asomugha will be more of a professional and won't make a big scene or anything. The interesting part will be if activate him next game or not. Morris and Cox contribute on STs, while Asomugha does not.

Neither of those vets deserved to see the field with us. They were awful, injury or not. Asomugha was decent, but Brock had a really nice game against STL. He's the younger player and it's the best decision for the team to see if he can continue playing like that.

Edwards actually looked good in preseason. He was still better than Ginn, and Jacobs got hurt early in preseason.

Going young with Brock is fine with me. He played well all offseason and especially vs STL. Good luck to the youngster against Johnson and the crew!

I wouldn't say that yet. But if Brock plays well again this Sunday night things will get interesting.
