move cullyinthehouse to FS

Yes. Move Cully to FS and let's see what he can do there.

Disagree. Cully has shown enough man coverage skills to keep him at CB. It's hard to find guys like that. He's still young, and will continue to improve.

Agreed. He can have fluid hips and sometimes shows the ability to play tight and time his attacks on the ball beautifully. Unfortunately, he's inconsistent and seems prone to losing his focus.

Remember, he has outperformed his 3rd round draft position and has only played 2 seasons. He has a lot of promise.

Sweet. Perfect deal. It's a one year deal with nothing guaranteed. We'll get Nnamdi's best. Hopefully he returns to Oakland form. Ya never know. 32 ain't all that old.

32 is ancient in football and ancient for a cb too. All the old ones still in the game are living off past accomplishments

Not exactly for everyone. Tell Ed Reed, champ bailey, deion sanders, jerry rice, terrell owens, etc. that 32 is ancient. Those guys were all playing at a high level at 32 and beyond. And some guys are even at their best at that age.

Champ Bailey says hi.
Going to be an interesting training camp and pre-season. In a good way. Lots of competition and regardless of who survives, there will be serious depth in the backfield.

Wonder if Fangio will let him play bump n run or soft, like in Philly?

Does NA still have the ability to shut down top receivers? Hope to find that he still can - would change a weakness into a strength.

i am amused by all those who are saying this is a bad signing. anyone who saw the super bowl knows we had to shake things up a bit. even if it is adding this guy and maybe a rookie, there is no way we were going into camp with the exact same secondary people we had who walked off the field following the super bowl. for those who did not like this no risk signing, what was your alternative plan?
cully and terrel brown are legit, asomugha will start and play well and bring back another high compensatory pick next year if we dont extend him. baalkes gonna be milking that comp pick system every year i think

You think we might try him at FS?

He did horrible in zone coverage so I don't think they are going to put him out at safety where he would play primarily zone.
he cant wear his #21 here
I really like Asomugha in our defense. With our scheme, it really lets the cornerbacks play man-to-man and really challenge their receivers. Asomugha, with this physical style, is going to thrive.

Though... can he cover shifty slot receivers a la Victor Cruz, Wes Welker, Danny Amendola, etc.?
Nice signing. Hope he has a good year like Carlos did two seasons ago.

Anyone down on Culliver is out of their mind. Here's a nice write up on our corners, sans Nnamdi of course.

Once Culliver gains some more experience, he'll limit the touchdowns given up (bonehead plays), and he'll be a super star.

Yeah people who said to get rid of him after his superbowl week or move him to safety are ridiculous. He's been our best corner and I also believe will be a star.

I was with you until that.

I believe Matt Maiocco or Barrows posted an article the other week about the completion percentage against our corners. Culliver gave up the lowest percentage. I think Culliver is better in man coverage than rogers or brown.

Cool. Now draft a safety and we're set.
Another great move by Baalke! Congrats to Nmandi on becoming a 49er!
