This guy is looking like an even better linebacker than special teamer. Great signing.

Is it just me or does anybody else think we are a MUCH better team on defense without this guy. I personally think ever since the dude got hurt our pass rush has gotten that much better with Lynch taking snaps & now with Aldon back in the mix i would much rather have the rotation of Smith Lynch & Brooks. Both Skuta & Wilhoite are the weak links of this defense.

That's kinda unfair to say, it's just that Lynch is just that good. Skuta is a very solid player, definitely not a weak link. Better pass rusher than Brooks imo, just as solid vs the run, and doesn't rack up stupid penalties.

He wasn't brought in to start but he's been a serviceable back-up when needed. Unless we get hit by injuries at OLB we're not going to see much of him outside special teams.

Solid just doenst cut it we need all the help we can get ESPECIALLY on defense since once again this unit has to pick up the slack for the offense. The only way we have a legit shot to make any kind of noise during these last 6 games we have to go on full beast mode on Defense in order to keep up in the divison race or try at least to get in via Wild Card. If our offense was on point shot heck we can have a decent D & i prob would NOT care if Skuta was just that (decent). But thats not the case we need the BEST 11 players on D & i just dont think Skuta or Wilhoite are part of that group. Now with Wilhoite he might stick around just the fact that Bowman will not come back & that i can deal with he's done a much better job, but with Skuta i worry the defense has a drop off when he's in there.

Why is this suddenly an issue for you? He's not even playing at the moment lol. Even when he was playing, he was mostly used in base downs and he's rock solid as a run defender. In the limited pass rush snaps he's gotten with us, he has looked very good (two sacks in the postseason last year). He's not a superstar but he's nowhere near a liability.

Skuta is a back up. A good back up. Brooks, even now, is a starter.

Thats stupid to say considering he hardly played many pass rushing snaps. Lemon was the one rotating in on pass rushing downs and eventually it became lynch. He played a few passing downs here and there but never enough to say that he was what was holding our pass rush back.

Skuta is solid when it's his turn to play, This whole kick 49er injured players when they are down is getting old

You're damn right, none of this solid b******t, if all the third stringers aren't All-Pro's, then Baalke is f**king up.

Gotta find something to complain about. I'm crossing my fingers that no one offers Skuta starter's money in the offseason.

Seriously. Skuta is one of the best non-starters on defense. Since he got here he's been nothing but solid when given his shot.

Listening to Adam Caplan on ESPN, he says atleast 4-6 teams are in play for Dan.
