I like this signing but I wonder if Armstead failed to impress at Leo that led them to make this move.
Good to see the effort being made to improve.... Now don't let Jed ruin it.... #brickbybrick #keepjedaway

I think that's the biggest message of this signing. I think Elvis will also serve to motivate Lynch. I think Armstead will become a rotational guy at the other three spots, but he could still be very effective in that role.
I'm a big fan of Dumervil. Dude adds another leader on the DL and gives us a proven rusher at LEO, even if it's just rotational at this stage in his career.

More likely Carradine has failed to impress. Dumervil will likely be a pass rush specialist and not a 3 down player. You could still have Armstead at the elephant on first and second downs with Dumervil coming in on third down.

BTW, what's your name bro?
This thread was confusing if you start from the front. Nice pickup though.

This. AA can still "start" at LEO on base run downs and help collapse the pocket and set teammates up for stunts. Then, slide inside and rotate (since Z noted we'd rotate every 5 plays or so) and THEN Elvis would come in at LEO on pass rush downs. It' a great way to utilize two players strengths until we can find a 23 year old who can play LEO every down for us.

This was my thought as well. Tank's spot is the one in jeopardy with this signing. If nothing else, Elvis can provide experience rushing from the edge. Give him about 15-25 snaps a game and keep ALynch fresh.

That is exactly what this means

I think that's the key. We are going to have 7-8 guys on the D-Line that can play and help us. If we rotate often, keep people fresh, and keep the opposing offense off balance, this could be an extremely productive position group.

Hmmm, interesting. That could be given Saleh saw Tank rushing from the strong side from the 6T to destroy TE's in pass rush situations. Elvis would be a specialist too...but can rush from both LEO/SAM so he may hold more value. Unless, he ditches Brooks to have both Lynch and Elvis rush from the edges (up to 70%) and use a guy like Malcolm at SAM in base.

Search for LEO this year is over. Thank goodness now we can move past that

I hope Lynch signs Leon Hall next. People can continue to hold their breath for J. Maclin but again, that's not happening.
