I love it, the "Cheap York" argument. 49ers have very little cap space because they're "cheap".
You know, here's the other thing, that whole cheap York thing came about when the team had to be transferred and was in Salary Cap purgatory. Of course the 49ers were cheap back then.... you have a thing called DEAD MONEY. And the whole, bringing in DE to HC because they wanted a cheap coach... well, if you're going to lose, you don't bring in a guy that's going to be great, you bring in a guy you don't mind letting go.
When you look at the history with 20/20 hindsight, you realize the whole cheap York argument is a complete load of BS started by people that don't understand NFL Roster Finances... kinda like Policy, as he is the author of the whole early to mid late 2000's MESS.

Yeah, started with JOHN York charging for water, etc. But once it was turned over to Jed, it's been anything BUT cheap...quite the opposite actually.
