The Aldon Smith thread

still not finding a single report about pills.
he's playin sunday
If his bac was at .15 at 7am how did he even practice today? Boy must handle his alcohol like a real pro.
More I think about it

Has a team (not the NFL) ever benched/ discipline a guy for personal issues?

Did the steelers bench rothlisburger when he was crashing his motorcycle or allegedly groping women? Did the Seahawks bench Lynch? Broncos with Von? Hernandez?

Teams usually bench or suspended a guy when he does something wrong. Not showing up on time, or to practice, or to the stadium. All though, teams usually let that go to get a win on Sunday.

Should the 49ers do something, maybe, but they wouldn't be the first team (or last) to let it slide.

I don't know if I would describe crashing into a tree as handling your alcohol like a real pro.

haha handle like a pro? Falling asleep and crashing into a tree is not handling his liquor well.

Maybe he more crashed cause he was tired. Home owner said it appeared like Aldon was asleep.

Maybe dude can handle his alcohol but it was the fact that he was so damn tired he crashed. I have had times where I have had to pull over because I was so tired I was almost falling asleep.
The 49ers need to be proactive and suspend him, at least for a game. And Balke needs to start working the phones. Unload this loser on another team while you still can.

Again, the .15 doesn't mean he crashed because of that. It is illegal so in the end he shouldn't have been driving but I have known guys who can drink a tonne and still appear fine.

Just having .15 doesn't mean it was the cause of the accident (again, doesn't matter cause in the eyes of the law it is). It could have just been that he fell asleep from being tired. But more than likely it was the alcohol. Only reason I stated this is that it is possible that he can handle his drink like a bawse.

Come on ... there is no excuse for this, period. This guy is going to flame out bad, it is only a matter of time. Shame on the 49ers for not making him ride the pine this weekend. Really losing respect for this organization.

OK OK OK he must pass the alcohol through his system pretty damn fast to blow a .15 at 7am and be physically able to practice a couple hours later.

Getting arrested is a sobering experience. Once those cuffs are on, you start to come back to reality.
