Kosier won the Bob McKittrick award in 2004, his last season with the 49ers. Donahue made a big deal that off-season that he did not perceive guards as high profile players and that a serviceable one could be had either on the street or in later rounds of the draft so he let Kosier go... This as well as other decisions cemented his legacy as a complete and utter failure in SF.

I think he'd be an excellent transition RG for Kilgore to learn from.

I recall him being a consistently solid player. Not great but always played well.
