6. Robert Meachem, Saints Scouting Report: Although he possesses ideal size and legit downfield playmaking ability, Meachem's career has been filled with stops and starts due to injuries, questionable commitment, and the Saints' mix-and-match approach at receiver. Meachem has sat between 40-45 receptions and 620-720 yards in each of the past the past three years, but he's had 22 games of fewer than 30 yards compared to just eight games over 75 yards during that span.

Availability: With Drew Brees, Marques Colston, and Carl Nicks as GM Mickey Loomis' top priorities, Meachem figures to be the odd man out in the Big Easy. The 49ers, Bengals, Bears, Raiders, and Redskins should be interested in the services of a physically gifted 27-year-old receiver.

Prediction: 49ers on a three-year, $13 million contract.

Injuries have been a problem but I'm not as worried about production. With so many weapons, NO spreads the ball around SO much that no one really puts up big numbers.

I wouldn't be overly excited about him but he would give some competition to Crabtree and Morgan for the #2 spot. He still has speed which would help.

For the same money I would rather have Manningham.

Side note Manningham is a Michigan man so thats something to think about.

I'd be okay with the signing. Meachem gives us a much needed deep threat at an affordable price.

Depends on the price. Love him out of college, but never proved himself all that good in the pros. There is a reason that he was so low on the depth chart and it probably has nothing to do with the talent they have.

Same fleas. Different dog. Both have had injuries. However, the Giants do not have a money problem and I highly doubt they will let the SB hero go. Meachem is a bit faster I believe.
I actually think Meachem stays in NO, They will sign Brees and they will let Colston and Nicks go, they will keep Meachem cuz they cant afford to pay all 3 of their big ticket FAs
I'd be happy with him. He's fast and cheap compared with other WR cap hits out there. He's not all bad. He'd be an upgrade for us. That's how sorry our WR corps is.

Might happen. Colston age and injuries are a concern though. Now there is a name that might make it here. Colston. More likely then Wallace or Jackson.
I still remember when he absolutely destroyed Cal....

Seems like a decent bargain FA.

And Crabtree can keep being the "#1" guy, if that matters.

Agree. Think he can be a good deep threat and also not cost us alot.
We don't need a number two or three type of wr. Unless we get him along with a true number one.
