Jaguars release David Garrard

it's a b***h move towards Garrard, who now has to play catch up wherever he goes to get a chance to start again.

Jaguars if I'm a FA I'm putting them on my blacklist

Look for the 49ers, who recently cut Luke McCown’s brother, Josh, to consider pursuing Garrard. Ditto for the Dolphins, who have been forced to settle for Chad Henne. Other potential destinations include the Bills, Steelers (where he’d replace Leftwich again), Colts (if they think Garrard is better than Kerry Collins), Chiefs (where Matt Cassel is dinged up and the cupboard is bare behind him), Redskins (for obvious reasons), and Seahawks (ditto).

I never understood why teams release players like this when they could be traded for draft picks...Maybe there was no one interested...

The Garrard Sweepstakes is on! I can see him signing with Tennessee to bring back the spirit of Steve Mcnair.

I'd take Garrard in a NY minute.

I guess Luck won't go #1 overall next year, since the Jags already have Gabbert.

Can't fathom how McCown would be better than Garrard, but I guess this a way to eventually plug Gabbert in. Wonder if JDR's thinking is that while Garrard might not be spectacular he may not play poor enough to make the change midseason and not look like it's warranted...

Wonder if Jack forgot this is his last year on his deal. Guess he will replace Gruden in the ESPN booth next year.
this is a month too late. If the jags were willing to release him, I wonder if the 49ers could have got him for a 7th?

The zone will never know.

Del Rio said "For whatever reason, David wasn't able to find a rhythm for whatever reason."Referring to preseason.

LOL...I smell BS?!......proven vet starter losing his job in the pre-season? Drama for yo mama!
Bring him in, let him learn the system, and if Alex gets off to a slow start in the first 4 games or so.

Or at least by the bye week (Week 7)
Do it! Sign!

Exactly; but, I'd put him in competition with Alex on the Practice Field on Day 1...
Who needs Garrard when we have Tolzien!
