Jeff Garcia???

Jeff Garcia was struggling in the UFL but could be a nice mentor. Forgot to add to my list Jake Delhomme but not sure if he had any WCO experience.

Delhomme played in the WCO in NO, and last year w/ the Browns.

Let me update this....

Jake Delhomme (CLE)
Brian Brohm (BUF)
Todd Collins (CHI)
Brodie Croyle (KC)
Jim Sorgi (NYG)
Charlie Frye (OAK)
Troy Smith (SF)
J.P. Losman (SEA)
Jeff Garcia (UFL)

I know he's not that great, but I think Croyle is the best on that list. He's at least gotten some playing time and has looked functional.
I would bring Troy Smith back as a 3rd string QB
Alex is so good he counts for 2 QB's. So we only need 1 backup...

Why the heck not? A third QB who started for us and won some games the previous year. Could be had for a cheap 1 year deal too.

This makes too much sense won't happen.

I'm not a big fan of bringing Troy Smith back. He has attitude issues, he's not an experienced veteran, and does he even know the WCO? He'd be learning a new offense, and coming in late. If he was the best option, I'd rather just let Kaep play.
I say scour practice squads for a quality prospect or bring in Jeff Garcia if he's willing to sit on the bench (which he probably isn't).

Man, if Garcia had anything left in the tank, I think he'd be awesome. Really, what i'd prefer is a veteran who can come in and mentor Kaep. But, if Smith fails, they would need to be able to step in and win games. Garcia could easily be able to do the first part, but I can't see him accomplishing part two.
