meh he'd want too much money and I never have thought much of him during his playing career. Besides I've been reading Minnesota is the team most likely to sign him

Edwards apparently saw the writing on the wall Wednesday, when the Jets extended a five-year deal worth almost $50 million, including $24 million guaranteed.
He congratulated Holmes via Twitter, but wrote "I would love to be a Jet but the feeling doesn't seem to be mutual with the management."
He later added, ""Will always love jets nation no matter what happens."
Edwards, 28, posted 88 receptions and 11 touchdowns with the Jets over parts of the past two seasons.
Holmes' signing happened on the same day Edwards had his Ohio probation extended during an appearance in Cleveland Municipal Court.
Edwards, who formerly played for the Browns, was serving 18 months of probation after he pleaded no contest in January 2010 to a misdemeanor charge. He was accused of punching a friend of NBA star LeBron James outside a Cleveland nightclub.
It was during that probation that Edwards was charged with driving while intoxicated in Manhattan.
Edwards pleaded guilty Friday in New York to a misdemeanor DWI charge in a deal that calls for no jail time or probation if certain conditions are met.

They better step up and make this one happen. As much as I'd love to see Crabs succeed here, I just have a feeling he won't be on the team after this season. The Niners are going to need a #1 WR
