The Raiders and Jets continue to negotiate with CB Antonio Cromartie, according to a league source.

A third team could be involved as well, but the Jets and Raiders have displayed the most interest.

Cromartie is back on the Jets’ radar after their failed pursuit of ex-Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha, who agreed to sign with the Eagles on Friday.

Cromartie recorded 42 tackles and three interceptions in 15 starts for the Jets last season.

nowhere does it say 49ers. I'm starting to believe that this ownership and FO are taking us fans for fools. another PR ploy. nicely done 4949 centennial blvd

I understand your frustration because I feel it too... but I truly believe they aren't lying to us about being interested in some players. They aren't aggressive, but we already know that.

And remember - you can't take these media blurbs 100%. Who mentioned the Eagles in the Nnamdi deal? Not one person for 2 days. Just saying.

f**k this "patience plan" but I mean, lying about it to keep us happy? I just don't think so. At this point, only signings would make us happy and that isn't happening anyway.

And with the first pick of 2012 NFL draft the SF 49ers select...Andrew Luck, QB from Stanford U.

I'm tired of people saying this, it's ignorant to assume that our players and coaches would put their careers on the line and tank the season for a QB who could be dead 8 months from now for all we know.

Lol, Luck is going to the Broncos or Bengals. Say what you want about this team but we will still win 6-8 games in our sorry division who still really has no QB besides Bradford in it as proven. There are allot worse teams out there doing even less in FA than the niners.
Maybe the reason we are not pursuing Cromartie is because his personality doesn't fit what Harbaugh wants on this team?

Let me see...Alex Smith at Qb again, Frank Gore holding out, Crabtree hurt again, shuffling of the OL again, no real NT, pass rush is still questionable, and no pass defense to speak of. Yay playoffs here we come!

Alex Smith played decent last year and I think his play will be better with Jim H @ the helm.

Frank Gore holding out is not a big deal, we will have something worked out with him soon.

Crabtree comes and goes anyway, not a big deal as long as we sign Floyd or someone of equal talent.

O-line is straight just need to pick up Kruetz and it will be in better shape imo.

Franklin is a legit NT, could also pick up a guy like tommie harris or shuan rodgers.

Carlos Rodgers, or trade for Asante would be an upgrade over Nate, along with signing Donte Whitner our secondary would be better than last year.

Looks like a bunch of "ifs" and "woulds" to me. We just have too many holes and to think Alex Smith will all of the sudden transform to this good QB because Harbaugh can instill greatness in him in only 2 weeks is absolutely insane.
