i am a little disapointed that we havent signed anyone while the other nfc west teams are. but there still is time. being from VA i see a lot of redskin games, i think we should sign carlos rodgers. he has issues catching the ball, but he stays with WRs and at least bats the ball away. he would be and upgrade over what we have

Relax our secret plan is to not sign anyone, and have a mass number of injuries, so we can win 1 game and lock in the #1 pick in the draft to secure Jim Harbaughs boy Drew Luck!
Then we shall rule the world!
Id rather lose a f**king nut than be 1-15 again.
the niners have never been 1-15 in their history

Good teams try to get better. It's year 7 and we still can't get Alex a #1 target. Not saying Sims Walker is 1 but is he any worse than Morgan?
LOL.

we improved our coaching staff...which, according to most on this board, was the only thing keeping out us out of the playoffs last year.
yeah but we are losing too many players
Nedney, Baas, TKO.
Franklin, Lawson are Polly gone too
But don't worry we have Akers and a bunch of UDFAs
Clements and Goldson are more than likely gone as well, not to mention our rookie CB is out for the season and Crabtree seems to be possibly out for the season as well. It's ok guys we signed a Kicker so we are saved.

Stop complaining we've been trying to get some good names just the contenders are getting the best of us right now, I just really hope we can resign lawson and clements, franklin, not a fan of goldson and he seems like he wants to much.

Apparently out 4-6 weeks prior to the season starting = out for the season.
Goldson is probably gone because there is an insane demand for safeties nowadays and he has Rosenhaus as his agent. Not sure where Clements would be going.

Harbaugh strikes me as someone who makes calculated moves, so waiting for the dust to settle a bit is a fine approach with me.

Arizona has an offense led by an inexperienced Qb. They've let their defense go to trash over the last 2 seasons.
Seattle has another inconsistent QB, but a solid WR corps. Thei defense is still average.
The Rams worry me a little because they've been adding talent. Losing Shurmur was great because he has such a QB-friendly, unfortunate McDaniels does as well. The Rams are the real threat.
As for us, we have to realize that we have a whole new coaching staff and theyll need some time to plant their roots. People are knocking he front office, but don't forget that they just brought in one of the most highly touted coaches in a long, long time. We're not just sitting around either. The team chased the top FA CB and fell short. Nnamdi wanted to go to a contendor, plain and simple. We'll sign a CB and surely it'll be an upgrade over Clements and his $15M contract.

Agreed. There's no way you can say that the rest of the division got better. In my mind, Seattle regressed (lost a Pro Bowl QB and replaced him with a scrub), and Arizona only got marginally better (Kolb was a hot name in FA, but is still unproven).
And St. Louis is installing a new offense, just like we are. The NFC West is still wide open.

We are going to be the NFC West punching bags this year.
