Alan Branch?

If he could be signed on the cheap do you guys think he could be a good fit? He strikes me as a guy who may need a change of scenery.

Liked him as a draft prospect. He hasn't really done much since, but I'd take a look... wouldn't offer him a lucrative deal though. If he could do better somewhere else, fine... see ya.

I dunno... we ran all over Arizona when we played them. I didn't watch for him specifically, though.

It's not a great 340 either. He had injury concerns coming out of Mich (knees?), and he never really got bact the quickness or explosiveness. I'd pass.

Yeah, I didn't think he was explosive.... It's been so long since that draft. That's why I don't think he'd fit... except as a situational run stopper at DE. That seems like a very small role, but it might be necessary if McDonald can't hold up against the run.

I'd only sign him for vet min, I think. If he was healthy and in shape.

So yeah... probably pass.

I remember thinking at the time that Branch was the target when we traded up for Staley. IIRC the main knock on him at Michigan was work ethic. Doesn't look like much has changed.
