You can't win a championship if you don't take a few risks... signing Steve Smith seems like it'd be a very small one.

Solid possession guy. At most a #2.
Per his Facebook page:

"To clear up some rumors, i was NOT at practice today but i WILL be in NJ to meet with the giants this wk..." Smith wrote Sunday. "well see what happens from there !! thanks again for all the support and ill try my best to keep u all updated..."
I want this guy. Especially if Crabtree shows us this year he can't get it done.
Eagles have just signed him....

I can't figure out how to post links

and how exactly are the Eagles going to get the ball to so many of these guys? signing for them makes no sense

Jackson playing a lot of Slot receiver with Celek being a threat in the middle AND Maclin running wild with his speed should do some very scary things for the possession receiver Smith. Oh and McCoy and Brown can do some serious damage. Mike Vick? For s**ts and giggles will run down the middle.

They don't have to get the ball to all of them at once -- they just get the luxury of having a bevy of OPTIONS to go to on any given play. I mean.. think about it. With that amount of weapons, defenses can't key in on any one area, on any one player.

They're going to have to shut down not only the receiving combination of Jackson, Maclin, Smith, Cooper, Higgins, and Avant. Not to mention the RB tandem of McCoy, Ronnie Brown, and Dion Lewis. When the final cuts are made, some team is going to land a good offensive player/depth guy from the Eagles. They have about 8 receivers that are roster worthy -- Sinorice Moss and Chad Hall are two guys I didn't mention earlier. Plus, Derrick Locke is a player that could get plucked by some team as a 3rd-down back, which he has the talent to be, on many rosters.

The only question is the OL. If they can protect and move the chains on the ground, they'll be good. Teams are going to have a top-notch defense all around to stop Philly, who does not have an All-Star OL. Vick helps compensate for that, but if Philly is unable to run, they'll become once dimensional and the more Vick gets hurt, the more inaccurate he becomes.

Eagles are the "paper" Champs right now. They have such tremendous depth all around, I don't think it even matters if Vick gets hurt. Vince Young can equal Vick's mobility, and with all those weapons should have no problem making big plays.
The Philadelphia Eagle's can seriously eff off
I can't wait until the Eagles don't win the Superbowl this year.
If SSmith heals well the Eagles will be powerful. Thier run game is suspect and by mid-season we'll see how much punishment Vick is taking. VYoung may work out but I don't think so. Too bad we couldn't have picked up SSmith. That's life!
