Besides being major players in Free agency DON'T EXPECT THE NINERS to be a major player in the playoff hunt either............. i expect the same results from these 2011 49ers from last years

Our GM free agency loser
He also said “If we can add a player to this team that’s going to make us better, we’re going to do it."
But at what cost is the question.
Smart moves IMO:
Bring in the next solid CB AFTER Asomugha, prefer either J. Joseph or R. Marshall.
Sign Matt Hasselbeck, well versed in the WCO, and it would be fun watching him kick the s**t outta his old team.
Find the next best NT if Franklin's price is too high.
I think our O-line is fine if we can re-sign Baas. Adam Snyder did a surprisingly good job filling in for Rachal, who I think he should start over in place of.
Let Goldson walk, mediocre player that wants to be paid, LOL, NEXT!!!! Would much rather re-sign Manny Lawson, who deserves to be re-signed more than Mr. mediocre.
Agree with all of this - except I hope we bring in another vet to challenge Chilo.
I think that's what the two rookies were intended for, at least in part. That plan would make more sense if the whole offseason wasn't lost. I think Snyder would be fine at guard. He has always played pretty well there, they just keep trying to make him a tackle.
i think snyder will start at RG he has been to all the practices and knows the system well chilo hasnt been to any so he will impress harbaugh and he is the better guard
i dont think we will be able to get namdi but i would really like to get one of:
namdi
joespeh
marshall
carlos rodgers
ike taylor
in that order but would be happy with any of those
also i doubt we go after a vet qb
we will sign smith and kaep will be our 2nd qb if we sign another vet kaep will be the inactive qb on gameday and i think harbaugh wants to use him in special packages
No more 3rd QB exemption. The league will allow 46 players on game day, but the 3rd QB counts as one of those, if you choose to suit one up.

id rather suit up another pass rusher or o linemen i mean seriously what are the chances you lose 2 qbs in same game
but its always better to keep pass rushers fresh

The Niners this year might be an excellent example of why you want three QBs. If Harbs wants to use Kap in some short yardage packages, but doesn't think he's ready to run the whole offense, the team would suit another veteran QB on gameday in case Alex gets injured.

I'd like to see us get a FB, NT, RG, CB, and QB.. With da only top $$$ being spent on CB and RG... The other spots can be filled via a combo of UDFA'a and 2nd. tier FA's ..

I would much rather have Lawson too! Everyone keeps shooting down the idea, but we could move Clements to safety and bring in a stud CB in FA. Just a thought that I know always gets shot down.

I really can't imagine Hasselbeck leaving the Seahawks. But it would be great to see it, as Whitehurst doesn't scare me. But I guess if they go after Palmer and get him then anything can happen.
I'd like the Marshall pickup! and Kelly Gregg too!

I think we should target a guy like Carlos Rogers. If Clements dont want to take a pay cut then cut him if he does move him to safety . Next year target a cb early in the draft . We also need to target a gaurd in FA. I dont agree that we need to make huge splash in FA just address team needs. Build through draft and continue to develop our young talent Mays , Crabtree, A Davis, M.I.,C.K.,Dixon,aldon smith we have alot of young talent on the team.

Something must be really wrong with Matt if they are willing to sign Lienhart and Jackson. wow. But hey maybe Petes trying to complete the Old SC team. Watch them go after Reggie.
But i agree with the rest. I think if Franklin sees that we are going after more talent in th e def backfield maybe hell stick around. The Niners are going to make a good offer to him. It will mostly be up to what the rest of the market says.

Seahawks offered Hasselbeck a contract before the lockout, but he turned it down.
