While I don't mind talent, what it comes down to is he worth the money. No-because he won't be an everydown back. I would rather use the money he would command on a perrenial pass rusher or corner. We also drafted Hunter and want to see what he can do. Bush with Gore dictates passing, cause Bush can't be a lead blocker, to small and he would be eaten up.
All you gotta do is look at how the team drafted and how Harbaugh runs his offense.

So how much will he command at this point?

^ meaning how much money, obviously.
... but really, don't you think whatever deal he would get would have incentives laced all through it?
Again, I don't think we will go after him (partly because of the RB rookie), but I think we should look into it, at least. We could use more dynamic, mismatch weapons of his skill.

Bush and Dixon are completely different running backs. I dont even think Bush would be useful to us, Hunter and Gore are both good receivers out of the back field, and Hunter has Reggie Bush-like quickness.
I think Bush would be a waste of money, Id rather spend our money at a position we really need
Bush would be our best receiver on the field. With having the mismatch weapons of VD and lesser extent Walker, Bush could shift out to the slot or outside and crucify whatever safety or LB that trailed him.
Certainly just opinion, but a backfield of Bush and Gore would own. Move Bush all around and watch what the D does. It forces opponents to get out of their base D. If they do that, Gore will run wild... if they stay in base? Then VD, Bush, and others will have remarkable mismatches to exploit in the pass game.
Then all we need is a solid QB to get the ball to'em.

Oh dont worry Janitor.....I know and respect the idea that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am not saying he is wrong for saying what he said. I just think the 49ers signing ALex and Bush would make him jizz is a little bit ridiculous.
I mean, what would happen to him if we signed Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson if signing ALex Smith and Reggie Bush would make him cream? LOL

Once again agree with you oldman. Bush would be a change of pace from Gore and Dixon--power runners, and Hunter is a question mark. And he would be that quick receiver the 9ers have lacked. Not sure about his mental condition these days but I'll bet Harbaugh and company know.
Imagine Bush out wide with Crabtree, VD and Walker. Gore as a single back would run wild. That would be a very agressive offense...pressure all over the field. He would be worth the money just for his recieving! And we know he can catch Smith's deep ball...from HS!
