We have Carr and a 1 year deal on the table to an "unknown" QB.

The "unknown" QB is known, I'm just not going to mention his name in any threads.
What about Jeff Garcia, I would rather have Garcia start than Carr or the dark hole of the last 6 years

I met Jeff a couple months ago when he came in to where I work and I said I wish he was with us again and he said that he wished that too. Jokingly, told him to give Harbaugh a call so I'm sure Jeff is all for finishing up as a niner

alex>bulger

Just a question:

Do the completion percentages include every time Alex just throws the ball away? Because if not, those numbers are skewed.

ya cause its an incompletion

personally the only qb i want under center next year are alex smith or carson palmer no preference to either however i wouldnt give more than a 2nd to cinci

If Alex back... You can mark 2011 has a lost season.. Bulger and Hassleback would a least give us a chance.. Smith gives us no chance!

explain how bulger gives a chance and alex doesnt lol

Let's see Bulger actually won football games and lead a team to the playoffs. What has Alex done in 6 years... Oh that's right top 10 draft picks... If that your idea of a starting QB... Good luck to you.. This team can't afford to waste another year on what ifs..

Bulger has a 41-54 (43.2%) record as a starting QB in his career. The last time Bulger experienced any sort of winning was SEVEN years ago in 2004 (Bulger was 26). In our horrible division, they squeaked in with a terribly unimpressive 8-8 record. Since then he's gotten progressively worse.

Bulger is 33 -- going on 34 years old now and I think people are overestimating what he has to offer. He's been beaten to a pulp. This isn't to put him down or say he absolutely can't be successful, look at Kerry Collins. But at this stage in his career, again.. we need to calm down with this "Anyone but Alex" mentality. It's just over the top, and a quick-ticket to more failure if we just think we can take any scrub or has-been and suddenly become winners.

Wow I was all about Bulger until I read this post. I didn't realize how quickly he dropped off. Bulger just seemed like a poor mans Kurt Warner to me who needed a few years to recover to return to his formal glory, but looking at your stats what former glory did he have??

OTC thanks to you I am a changed man. I now have no idea what to do with the niners QB situation

Wait I had no idea to begin with

I wouldn't mind him coming back while the rook gets his feet wet. I was sad when he left.

Yeah, his wife was even hotter in person.

Bulger seems kind of fragile, but I don't think you can rely on those stats and make a case against him. That Rams team got old fast, Marshall retired, Bruce turned in to old man Bruce, they didn't upgrade their line, the defense was awful. Bulger seemed to play ok but get hurt a lot.

I'd still take him over Carr, while a he helps mentor a rookie. I'd prefer Hasselback or Palmer, but I'd take Bulger too.
meh, would rather have Josh Johnson ALex and Caepernick

Dont care who's throwing the pigskin next year as long as its not one of the rookies we draft.....Dalton,Kap,Mallet maybe........

Bulger can stay right where he will be in the future. A free agent for another team.
