qb trades/fa in nfc west

This is more important than anything to the niners. Right now even with alex smith we have the most talent and are the best team in our division on offense And defense.

With kolb palmer and mcnabb out there its going to be a lot harder to win the division with any of these qbs going to sea and ariz. Yes sea and ariz are horrible on d but if ariz gets any one of those qbs fitz and breaston and company are going to be a challenge again. Sea has hasslebeck but when he is done this year or the next....say if they get mcnabb or kolb or palmer we are going to have trouble beating them....especially at their home where we always struggle.

If ariz or sea get one of these qbs we are in some trouble although with a new offensive coach who is actually smart and our good d led by willis we should still win the division. This would make it all the more harder.
As far as the rams go.....bradford may become a good qb although he was rated behind smith and hasslebeck with a better ol and the shortest passing game i have seen in at least 20 years......im not worried about the rams. People seem to forget they just lost their best player on d and lond is their only player worth mentioning. Their offense has not one playmaker and their secondary has to be among the worst in the league now maybe the worst with their fs leaving. And yes jackson is a good rb but by no means a playmaker just a solid workhorse.

Just wanted to see what you thought about who may be getting what qbs and what are the niners chances if they do?

well do something lol... half naked chicks will usually do it. the shortcut is to find another forum that already has a hot chick thread and just copy those photos.
I think the niners have the most to offer. we have a new offensive minded coach and VD and crabtree are pretty decent targets. I Think we could land one of the top FA qbs over the other NFC west teams based on that alone...... but what does this noob know....

Kolb is an average qb. He was mediocre in his starts with the eagles and with the niners ol and new offense worse. Don't thing harbow will trade a 2nd for him.

If we take a QB from Reid he better be putting up some spectacular numbers.

Kolb is not the guy
I'd like to see Palmer brought to SF plus a QB in the draft. I'd just as soon see Carr released, but then we would only have 2 QBs; I'd prefer three on the roster. What to do for the third?

Your thoughts?

That is what everybody said last year. Alex Smith won't get it done. I dont care who the coach is; if you are not accurate, you will not succeed.

You should care because the new coach is Jim Harbaugh who has proven thus far he can develop QB's.Whichever QB he & Balke decide on,us fans should have some confidence he will know what he's doing

Even with Warner we still beat the Cards on a consistent basis and with a flip flop at QB. Not one team is really intimidating within the NFC West including us. We have areas of weakness and if we had a dominant D or O as you state we woould have won the division last year even with the Smith's!!
Thats what I say. If we could be dominant in just one area consistently then it would help out the entire team a lot. I mean every other team outside the NFC West seem to have at least one part that can get it done regardless of how the other side of the ball does. If their D sucks, the O can always get it done. IF the O sucks, then the D can consistently lock teams down, to at least keep the game close, so the O doesnt have to worry about scoring tons of points.

With our squad neither side of the ball could work consistently. Then when everyone praised the Defense, they excluded the fact that the teams best stops came against the sub par teams. And when we played proven teams, even after the O kept them in the game, they just got beat. I'll say 4 of our losses came at the helm of the D not being able to stop when it counted the most.

Overall I dont think it matters which QB we get because we'll have a HC that knows how to adjust and revolve the game around a QB's strengths. I dont care too much about what the QB cant do, I care more about the things that he can, and then capitalize on that. Just like I hear with Cam Newton.

On Nfl network each commentator agreed that Newton can def get the job done, if a team can plan the offense around what he does best. If you know a player has a weakness, the part of being a good coach is not putting the Qb in a position to fail.

Mcnabb or maybe Palmer, but Kolb can stay in Philly. We can pretend to say what he can or cant do, but he hasnt proved anything either. And no more added QB's who havent done s**t in the NFL. That time has come and gone. So I think either they bring Smith back, because he was better than most of the QB's mentioned and at least one of the top 3 in QB F/A's this summer, or bring in a PROVEN vet.

Either way I trust our HC and if he thinks he can get the job done, then i support any Qb decision he makes 100%.
There is a chance Palmer, Kolbe, and Mcnabb will all play in the NFC west.
Kolbe as a Seahawk
Palmer as a Niner
McNabb as a Cardinal.

All teams are looking, Seattle has already been discussing trades with Philly (last season) Palmer has expressed interest in coming to the Bay Area, and Mcnabb is the kind of Vet the cards need.

Will it happen, maybe, point is it could happen. What a great season we would have in the NFC west if it did!

He has not expressed anything outside of a trade from Cincinatti. Don't put words out there without proper proof.
Is Pennington worth looking at and investing in. If yes, what would the cost be and how do you all feel he'll do?
