Mike Sims-Walker Cut

QB
OLB
CB
RG
re-signing Franklin, Baas, Spikes
and re-negotiating w/Clements before I spend on a WR

I agree that we need all of the above before a wr but you take what you can when you can. It would be great if we could address the needs you list thru the draft and FA in one year but thats not gonna happen. If a player comes avail. and he fits our needs (wr is definately a need) then we have to strike while the iron is hot.

I look at the above list with the addition of at least a #2 wr (thats if you think Crabs is gonna turn into a #1, which is in doubt at this point in time) and expect it to take 2 years to fill all our holes and that assumes that we keep players like you list and others.

I'd rather we go after Sidney Rice from the Vikes instead of MWS but its a matter of opinion like all players.
Do you guys think he could beat out Morgan?

Other than his fantasy football stats, I've never paid any attention to the guy.
I am not a fan of the whole claim every single FA that hits like some....but this guy is big and catches TDs. I would love to have him.

And I thought this was just a tweet and not confirmed yet.

Only player we miss-managed more than Jason Hill was Alex. Every time he was on the field he produced yet he never got an opportunity.

I totally agree with this.

But still, if we had been offered Sims-Walker for Hill straight up last year we would have all been pretty happy about it I think. MSW has produced a lot at times. He's not that consistent. But he's more capable of making big plays than most of our WRs.

11 catches, 248 yards, 1 TD.

No.

Well, it's a good thing it's not your money or your decision.

You take what you can when it's available. You're acting like the Niners are always in cap trouble and have no room to work. Signing Sims-Walker wouldn't exactly break the bank and ruin their chances of filling other voids.
Maybe the Dolphins make a run at him.

Mike Sims-Walker and Brandon Marshall were college roommates.

We are thin and unproven at WR. Who knows what crabtree can do and Morgan/Ginn/Ziegler/Williams are nothing to write home about. I would spend some money on MSW, as long as we get a decent QB. Without someone to throw to him, he would be pointless...
I actually really want us to get him

I hope we sign him, could develop back into a #2 or maybe even a sleeper #1.... i think it'd be a good move, at least better than some of our recent wideout signings.

always thought he was a one year wonder.

This.

My brother is a Jags fan, so I've paid close attention to MSW. He had one FANTASTIC year, since then he has been hot and cold like crazy and also dogged by injuries. Skip this one.

If he comes cheap, wouldn't he still be a better option at #2 than Morgan?
He drops SO many balls.
