Tommie Harris?

Tommie Harris anyone? I know he has issues with effort, but he has had 3 kick as years. i wouldn't mind him, but only if he got his s**t together

Decent player with some injuries. Not sure how he'd fit in a 3-4 but he could be and upgrade over Soap or Ray. Plus Justin smith isn't getting any younger. Good be a decent pick up or just a guy they don't even look at.

The main question is that how much of his lack of "effort" has to do with being hurt and or not fully recovering?
how would he fit in our 3-4? i think he would be a nice pickup if we were able to get the best out of him

i think he's worth signing.. the guy still young..l he may not be a very dominating defensive player anymore, but the guy can still play..

i dont understand some you fellow 9er fans here.. dont u all remember how Bill build our defense?? he didnt mind trading or signing defender that were once injured or a bit old..l dont u all remember the Fred Dean trade, the signing of Hacksaw Reynolds, or players like Gary "big hands" Johnson who many thought was washed out??

Even the likes of Charles Mann, Rickey Jackson and Tim Harris.. The Richard Dents.. Tai Cook.. Jim Burt.. Fred Smerlas.. dont u all remember how it was done??

Had Steve Emtman signed with us instead of the Dolphins (more money), he coulda gotten a ring and help our defense..

Those were players that gave us 3 good and solid years while the young guys were developing and learning how to play the game..

I remember hoping to sign Charles Woodson from the raiders and many from my old forum thought that he's washed out and it would be a waste of money.. isntead, we sign someone younger and gave him $80 million contract..

Whatever happened to the believers?? We tend to be happy signing young and promising players and they never seem to pan out.. why not give Harris another shot??

Crap, McNolan was giving away money to WRs who couldnt play in the NFL anymore, i dont understand those..
He was beat out by two dts that may not even be starters on most nfl teams....so no.

so not true. he clashed with Lovie a lot & got fine a couple of times. he wasn't beaten out. hell he showed his worth in the Seattle game, and put a lot of pressure on Ridgers.

Thank you..

If he was beat out by those no names DTs, why didnt Lovie just let him go?? Politics in the NFL at the very best...

I hope we sign the guy, id hate it if he lands on Seattle again or Arizona, cause we got no OL that can handle him at the moment.
He's a 3 technique DT. Our defense only puts one of those out there in Nickel & Dime packages.

If he came here, he'd either be limited to those packages or we'd ask him to switch to the 5 technique in our base 34 defense. Justin Smith has played the 5 and switched to the 3 on passing downs before, so it is possible. But its not automatic. Warren Sapp struggled when asked to make the same change for the Faiders.

Either way, I think he's worth a lot more to a 43 team. Indy would be a nice fit, imo.
Tommy Harris is a gap shooter.
Below average in run support.

the guy is young and he can learn.. he'll be more effective than any of our back ups, so sign him.
