Morgan and Crabtree are horrible compliments to each other. They might be the slowest receiving tandem in football.
I don't have a problem with one or the other but I don't think they mesh together. Secondaries just don't fear either one of them going deep.

That's why we traded for Ginn

Exactly, and he was what, or fourth or fifth "blazing fast blarghh blarghh blarghh" WR experiment in the last 10 years?
The "stretch the defense" crowd who only rival Al Davis and Madden-only football followers for their misguided, one note obsession with SPEED will never be satisfied, though.

Experiments. I'd say we collected other teams trash. Wake me up when we actually try to address it.

Not a big believer in the the WR's. I wonder if Crabtree did a combine workout today how he would stack up against this years crop. Morgan is ordinary at best. Personally I think this is the area that has the greatest impact on our success as an offensive football team. My first pick in this year draft would be Julio Jones. My first 4th rd pick would be Edmund Gates. They have the talent to challenge the entire field and would be hard to defend. At least they would occupy a CB which Crabtree and Morgan don't. I would like to see some film review on Crabtree to test his speed into routes and how long it takes him to get to his principal target location and compare it to the time the QB has to deliver an accurate pass. My sense has been he doesn't get to the target location quickly enough which makes him a difficult target. This requires velocity on passes that he has difficulty handling. Morgan skills are not a good fit for our offense so I would include him with trade talk for Carson Palmer. I hope Zielgler recovers cause he had skills we just could not figure it out with the coaching we had.

LOL thats funny. Because you know what turns ME off as a 49er fan? The fact that the $@(!* pass traveled like a #$&@!*$# punt!!!
Get a real QB in here and lets see what our current WRs can do before we judge them.

The 49ers have 10 picks in the draft, and they will almost assuredly use one of those selections on a wideout. But the team should be just fine with Michael Crabtree and Josh Morgan as the starters -- as long as Jim Harbaugh can come up with somebody to throw the ball to them.
The 49ers will look to upgrade the production from their No. 3 wideout. Veteran Ted Ginn had only 10 catches for 122 yards, and his spot on the roster is certainly not guaranteed. Kyle Williams did not get on the field much as a rookie, but he's a Trent Baalke draft pick. Baalke raved about Williams' combination of quickness and speed, attributes that serve him well as a slot receiver and in the return game.

Remember where Morgan got picked and where Crabs got picked.

We need to see Morgan and Crabtree playing in Harbaugh's system before pronouncing their ability. I'm not sure any WR could look good under Nolan and Singletary. My hope for a Harbaugh team is that players are held to a standard and not allowed to point fingers and hide their mistakes. Whether it is the QB or the WR or a lineman. I'm sick and tired of seeing players play with near hysteria trying not to make a mistake rather than laying it all on the line. Gore and VD were the only offensive players who really played at a professional level over this time and VD had to grow into it. In his case, Singletary did help.
