im probably gonna get heat for this QB option

I'd pass on Pennington. 3 shoulder surgeries and he guy didn't have the strongest arm to begin with.

I'd take him over david carr!
read somewhere dude wants to get into coaching when hes done playing; IMO would make a great coach. If he was on our team last year as a player, he would have been the best QB coach on the team; sad.
Man's washed up, he'll be a good coach one day though.

But Chad Pennington could be a decent stop gap option... I know i Know old and injuries. But know that he is the most accurate passer of all time. Highest completion percentage ever. If his surgery went and heals well, he could come in for a year and coach up our newbie.

WCO is about accuracy, and being smart, pennington is both. If I am right every year he was healthy he lead his team to the playoffs...

Plus he has no contract next year so getting him should be easy and cheap!

I didnt see a post on him hope there hasnt been one
one word: injury-prone

Yeah, we will still need Alex to back him up.
I'd be very happy w/Pennington as a 1-2 year stop-gap QB. I don't know for sure but owuld he be that expensive?

Alex won't stay to be a back up. He can start on a few team around the league.

The highest minimum salary is $820,000 for players who have been in the league 11 years or more.

this would be current cba numbers Chad is going into year 12
With Chad's injury history he might be the perfect guy for two years while we develop the next guy. I'd prefer him over Orton. I remember wanting us to draft im in the 00 draft.

I agree. His arm strength as always been, IMO, his ONLY downfall. But playing in a WCO, you don't have to have the strongest arm, you just have to be deadly accurate and he is

Well, that and injuries....

Man, I just can't even think about who we should bring in at quarterback this season. It's getting frustrating... whenever I ask myself if a guy is the right fit, I always give myself the same answer. Whatever Harbaugh wants.

That said, I've always liked Pennington. I can remember thinking that he was better than Tom Brady a decade ago. So much potential....

::sigh::

Whatever Harbaugh wants.

Pennington is solid when healthy. If he was able to stay healty through out his career and had the benefit of a high-end QB coaching early in his career I think he could have been even better.

I'd take a resigned M.Rob over Carr, A.Battle even.

UHMMMM........OK......I AGREE ON THAT.......BUT I HOPE FOR THE BEST....

GREETINGS.....FROM PERU

I love it. Great idea.

Then again I'm pretty much rooting for an 1-15 season that way we can get Luck.

Seriously the guy's arm was worse than Shaun Hill's before 3 major surgeries. So unless you're planning on running a wicked wildcat he's not a good option.
