But Chad Pennington could be a decent stop gap option... I know i Know old and injuries. But know that he is the most accurate passer of all time. Highest completion percentage ever. If his surgery went and heals well, he could come in for a year and coach up our newbie.

WCO is about accuracy, and being smart, pennington is both. If I am right every year he was healthy he lead his team to the playoffs...

Plus he has no contract next year so getting him should be easy and cheap!

I didnt see a post on him hope there hasnt been one

Well no heat from me, but I think he'd be a pretty decent option. Only thing, I'm pretty sure hes not a free agent and signed a one-year extension, or was that in 2009??

In all honesty, he wouldn't be a bad pick at all. The last time he was actually a starter for a full season (2008), under Miami's RUN FIRST offense, he posted 3,600 yards, 19 TD's and only 7 INT's with a completion percentage of 67.4 and a QB Rating of 97.4 If we could have had anywhere close to that, we would have been in the playoffs easily

He manages the game VERY WELL, and he is extremely accurate. When healthy, he is one of the more efficient passers in the NFL and playing under Harbaugh in a WCO would be the perfect scenario for him and us

yes sir!
I am a fan of Pennington. Wouldn't complain one bit if he came over. He will be the best QB we have had since Jeff (if healthy).

had to just post something to hit 1600
He can only ever be a backup. If we draft a young qb and bring him in for a year we will be ok but he never plays a full 16.
I sTill remember him knocking Peyton out of the playoffs with the jets 41-0.
Another small tidbit, Chad Pennington's career completion % of 66 is higher than Manning, Brady, Brees, and River's (didn't even bother looking at the rest of the elite QB's)

Now, take that for what it's worth. I am, by NO MEANS, saying he is BETTER than any of those QB's but what I am saying is, when giving the opportunity to drop back and pass, he makes the most of it and that is exactly what this offense has missed for a while.

There is nothing wrong with a "game manager" if in fact, you are very good at managing the game. You are not a "game manager" by default because you are not a "play maker", you have to earn that title by being successful at it and Chad has definitely earned that title.
Pennington has always been an accurate passer. His problem has always been his arm strength. Saying that I wouldn't mind him being a stop gap QB while Stanzi learns from the master.
