Obviously, Nnamdi should be #1 on everyone's list. Champ is up there in age so I can understand if we want to pass on him. He will still command big money. Jonathan Joseph is a reasonable choice who will get good money but has had good production. Richard Marshall would be a reasonable value... cheaper options would be Josh Wilson and Chris Carr.

Might be able to save us a draft pick if we sign one of these guys. I like Peterson and Amukamara but I think too many people are expecting lockdown corners. I think they could struggle a bit but they are still an upgrade. Anyways, pick up a CB then we could use our first pick on QB, pass rushing OLB, pass rushing DE, or maybe AJ Green or Julio Jones. Maybe pick up another CB in the mid to late rounds.

I'd never draft Julio Jones, he is not worth #7 money at all. Not to mention he will be converted to a hands/underneath guy much like Austin Collie. We need a deep threat not more possession receivers. If Green fell to #7 I would take him but we need to draft a defensive player with our first pick. The only scenario I would be okay with us trading down in round one is to go back to the 25 range and pick Muhammad Wilkerson DT from Temple.

At #7 we could pick between Amukamara, Miller, Quinn, or Dareus. All of these players would solve specific needs for us. In my opinion we could skip on Dareus because there are so many quality nose tackles available later. Amukamara suffered from the "revis" affect if you will, he demolished people last season so his pick numbers fell off but if you look at his Pass Defended(I think he broke up 50% of the passes targeted at him) and Tackle stats(60 tackles in each of the last 2 years & 35 as a sophmore) he is still a monster. Miller would instantly solve our OLB carousel and be an immediate starter and we could rest him with Brooks and let Manny walk in FA. Quinn would be a real head scratcher of a pick but if he has managed to stay in the top10 projections all season while his teammate Marvin Austin, a preseason top10/early first rounder has fallen into round 2 projections has to show that he is a hard worker and is doing his best to get ready for the NFL.

I would personally hope we take Miller or Quinn because they would fix the horrific pass rush that would in turn give our secondary a boost and if we could land Chris Carr, Eric Wright, Jason Allen, or William gay in FA along with a middle round pick on a CB like Rashad Carmichael from VT and a middle round safety like Ahmad Black or Robert Sands we would be set.

Verdict: Don't spend big on CB in the FA market, we just need a 2 solid corners this offseason(assuming we cut Clements or move him to FS and Spencer needs to start having his playing time cut down he isn't doing that well anymore and could be Nickle back.
If we could find that second corner on our roster(hello phillip adams) I would be way stoked but I am being realistic and thinking we end up signing 1 and drafting another.
My favorite scenario not involving Amukamara would be signing Chris Carr and drafting Brandon Burton, even though that is highly unlikely unless Burton has a bad combine and falls into the 2nd round.
Even if we draft Amukamara I still think Carr is going to be our main target, why is that? Johnathan Joseph has expressed complete desire to stay in Cinncy and would even be cool with the franchise tag because he'd make 12 million or something insane. Nnamdi will have big suitors in the likes of the Jets, Patriots, Bears, and hell the one team that has to fix their secondary or lose their jobs, the Texans. We have no chance of signing Nnamdi but Stanford Routt is also an FA if I'm not mistaken(not sure if he is an RFA or not).
Cromartie, Grimes, and Taylor are all on contenders and only Cromartie might be financially motivated to leave but with the success he has enjoyed being opposite of revis that is still very unlikely. Carlos Rodgers doesn't have hands and if we couldn't land Ike I would never settle for Rodgers(at least Ike is known for his coverage. I'm a Steelers fan as well and I like to call him Ike "Cinderblocks" Taylor or some variation of that due to his uncanny ability to never catch a pick but always knock it down). I don't know a lot of Richard Marshall but from a cursory look he sounds like another Shawntae Spencer so I would avoid him at all costs.

With the idea of converting Nate Clements to FS we should have him and Reggie Smith split time and let Goldson walk while still retaining C.J. Spillman for depth and special teams purposes. With the SS position we will only have Mays and Maragos. With Mays apparently not ready to take over the starting duties I could see us signing Dawan Landry, a few years older and a play maker. If only for a short term deal and hell maybe we'd come to the conclusion that we need to move Mays to OLB or that he isn't the answer at SS. I am not condemning Mays at all, he was probably my favorite pick of the entire draft since we didn't get Earl Thomas because of Sing's crazy ass wanting 2 OTs.
