He is turning 30 in a few months which means the clock is moving faster for him. I wouldn't break the bank but I would put a very nice offer on the table. I would still go after a CB in round 1 if a good one is there (Prince or Peterson). Clements is over 30, Nnamdi will be 30, and Spencer is almost at 30, we are getting a little old at CB. Having a top flight rookie watching Nnamdi and learning would be very beneficial to his growth. Also hopefully the rookie can slide into the nickel very early in the year then eventually move into Spencer's spot.
This move may also convince Bailey to come play FS for us as well.

Add either Namukamara or Peterson in the draft and we're solid!!!
You mean add those and shift Clemments and get Nnamdi? I don't think we need that much to make our 2ndary one of the best. We just need a FS and a lock down cb. Nnamdi and a shift of position for Clemments or signing of Champ will solidify everything back there. Don't get me wrong..an addition draft of a quality CB would be a great idea...but if we had the aforementioned moves, we could focus on a pass rushing De/LB or a QB.

What's your definition of a very nice offer?
He's going to ask to be the highest paid corner in the NFL, so he'll probably command at least 12 mil per. And I think somebody will give that to him.

Would be a great sign.....i dont get why everyone wants to run Clements outta town. He is a solid CB and a BEAST against the run.
12 mio. for nnamndi??? i'd rather go for several pass-rushers and a solid CB than give any CB such a big amount of cash.

I would do a 4 year w/ option for a 5th. I wouldn't go any higher then 10 mil per year but we can load him on incentives. Like Jim, he can stay on the West coast so the move wouldn't be anything major for him. The West is still winnable so his chances of going to the playoffs are very good and unlike the Raiders we have some serious stability now with Jim. Nate has slowed down since entering his early 30's and Champ is looking to move to FS himself, his window is closing quick and I don't want to overpay because of that.

Signing him would improve our team dramatically.
IMO, for where we are there are only three positions worth the overall 7th pick. That would be QB, NT, Rushing OLB. I know lockdown CBs aren't a dime a dozen, but very good CB can be found in FA. 3-4 NT and OLB that can get after the QB are almost impossible to aquire in FA, come at a huge price and are a must have for a 3-4 defense. If we can't get either of those three positions I mentioned, I hope we trade back.
P.S. We should do whatever it takes to get Nnamdi.

Even IF we got Nnamdi, I wouldn't mind us still going for peterson or amukamara at 7. And then if we somehow landed Lamarr Woodley??? I'd cream my pants

Nnamdi is a great corner. Yes, Great.
He doesn't get alot of national love because he plays for a terrible team but he absolutely locks up half of the field. If we signed him, that would be tremendous.

His salary is also beastly and he doesn't deserve it. That's why.

We need to concentrate on a QB in the first round of the draft regardless.
