I voted no because it is Leinart but he says he wants to start and we only need an 8 game or 1 year stop gap to develop a rookie sure why not. But I am calling it right now, Dennis Dixon is our starter next year while we develop a rookie as the 3rd(emergency) QB for year 1 while we sign a guy like Kellen Clemens who is happy doing his thing as backup but will play his heart our put pressure on both Dixon and the rookie.

Dennis Dixon???

Why this guy? Isn't he damaged goods?

He is way down the QB list with the Steelers.

I'd rather resign Michael Robinson for QB than him. Heck, even bring Kordell Stewart back to the league. And yes, I HATE Leinart. I will always remember that dumb skit leading up to the 2005 draft where he said he dodged a bullet going back to USC because the 49ers had the #1 pick.

Matt Leinart is a Tiple-D: Douche, Diva and a Dumbass!!!

So what, he was right. Look at what happened lol!

I'm not in favor of bringing him in either (mostly because AD isn't ready yet and I don't think we could protect his blind side very well), but I think you can look at his situation in Arizona and fairly make the argument that the Whizenator had a big hand in blowing Leinart's career up after he took over for Denis Green.

Matt had a reasonable start to his career under Green and then in comes the Whiz. Whisenhunt had no interest in seeing what he could do with Leinart right from the jump. He just went right after Warner who was an easy get at the time, and then proceeded to bury Matt on the depth chart deeper and deeper every subsequent year.

Don't get me wrong, Matt didn't exactly do himself any favors getting into a pissing contest with the coach the way he did, but who of us would have handled it differently? Some would have, some wouldn't; he didn't and I'm sure nobody knows better than him how much that decision F'd him up in Arizona.

This has nothing to do with your post in particular, but as far as him leading his receivers into trouble; why does he get that rap of a "receiver killer" and then Payton Manning can go out virtually every week and get every slot receiver he's ever had including his all pro TE absolutely murdered, yet he's the greatest of all time in a lot of the pundits eyes? Funny how winning games just makes some guys completely infallible in the eyes of the people telling the stories.

...Or maybe sh*t just tends to happen in the middle of the field and there's not a lot anybody can do about it aside from sitting down on their routes and bracing for the contact. Don't worry though, Commish Goody's on the case and he's gonna fix that problem too

Anyway...I don't think anybody's seen enough of Leinart to make the determination that he's a bust. Call em a douche or whatever, he's never had a fair kick at the can and he's far from the least talented QB in the league; that's all we really know about him. If he ever buries the ego and the attitude and just goes to work, I think he could be good.

Maybe as assistant water boy. Don't need his cavalier lazy attitude. Another guy who got his guaranteed money and didn't apply himself, no thanks.

He stated that he wanted to be a starter again...maybe he's really serious? if he was brought in at all I wouldn't doubt the move by Harbaugh

Locker room reports were that he was all about Matt and nothing for the team. It got very thing very quickly. He will have a hard time rebuilding his career.
