But he ranks just below those elite FAs.
the other big name FA OG would be too expensive IMO. Nicks would be SICKS but way to expensive. Gallery would be a nice pickup, if not a 3rd-5th round pick with Snyder plugged in would due.

Gallery is going to ask for too much. I say pass and play Snyder at RG.

I agree.. came out he was seeking what? 8 million a year or something like that. The dude failed as a left tackle and is only a decent LG... but someone will overpay, we shouldn't be the ones

there is no possible way we are getting nicks. he will be resigned. He is to much of a beast.
O yea, we passed up Nicks 3 different times during the 2008 draft.Instead we get Balmer,Chilo,Reggie Smith and Cody Wallace. Our talent evaluators suck. He came out as a tackle and was moved to guard. Like gallery he doesnt have the feet to play tackle but guard he has been good. The past just keeps coming back to haunt us. Thank goodness we have a fresh start. Lets hope for the best

With Heitmann returning I would go with Baas at RG.

Next year will be better with the same guys upfront but it won't be mistake free. Give them another season before they really show what they can do.
I agree that Rachal showed much better in the second half. A good part of that was better play selection. After Mike Johnson took over he began to sequence plays much better than before. Instead of everyone knowing what was coming, he actually fooled opponents on occasion and Rachal did much better. His technique also improved in certain areas. He still has a ways to go to justify his draft number but he did show he is worth letting Harbaugh and company work with him for a season before we toss him out.
As to Galley; he has been a huge disappointment. His play has been very mediocre, even after the move to guard. Wiser to invest a mid round draft pick than to spend money on this guy.

The absolute "suckiness" of our talent evaluator is something that is not recognized enough. It was compunded by having the worst GM in the league when McCl was running the front office.
Yes, we have a fresh start. But they are the SAME scouts we had before. Let us hope that they are learning from their mistakes and /or the decision making is better at the top. I was not impressed by the Niners performance during last year's draft. But I am hoping it was the result of Singletary's heavy influence. We saw evidence of some real discord in the Niners draft room last year while Singletary was present.
