NO... good tactician, but gets overpowered way too much. He's best (like Rachal) as a backup..
Exactly. Snyder's play at RG led to the drafting of Lupati. Just because he's better than Rachal doesn't mean he's starting material. We need to sign a veteran guard, and let Rachel battle in out for a backup spot, which Snyder gets the nod on because he's a better guard and more versatile.
Who is Lupati and when did we draft him?

i doubt it he is to expensive. he wants to get paid top dollar. plus we have iuptai who plays lg. you do not pay two guards that much especially since mankins will be switching positions if he comes here
No, you make Iupati move to RG and have Mankins on the blindside with the LT if our new qb is right handed.
Iuptai tried playing at rg last year at the senior bowl and couldnt do it. As an exlineman it is such a pain switching sides because it completely changes your footwork, what you are doing with your hands, and feels weird when blocking someone specifically pass blocking. If you are comfortable on one side you should stay there. He is explosive at that side and set to be a future probowler. You do not screw with that as a personnel person. There is a very good chance with in the next couple years Iuptai could be all pro. Mankins is good but we shouldnt overpay a guard when one will have to switch to an uncomfortable position. So we should look at a rg or someone who has played on the right side.

Gallery's career started off really bad in Oakland. I think he was like the 3rd pick in the draft the year he was drafted. However, he has really turned it around. I don't know about his pass blocking abilities, but he is a freaking boss in run blocking.

Sure we you can never have enough depth. Whether he starts is a different thing. Im telling you guys Rachal isn't the problem everyone has him out to be. He did struggle to start the season but towards the end he seemed to have it together. This line is young and with that comes growing pains. Next year will be better with the same guys upfront but it won't be mistake free. Give them another season before they really show what they can do.

i could see how giving him another year makes sense but he is just so inconsistent all the time. I feel like he has had little to no improvement since his rookie year.

Gallery flopped as a tackle, but hes a str8 beast at guard. I wouldn't mind us getting him... or even Carl Nicks from NO.

Why not just move Anthony Davis to RG and let Alex Boone play right tackle, the dude is ready!

there is no possible way we are getting nicks. he will be resigned. He is to much of a beast.

NO made Jahri Evans the highest paid guard in the league last offseason. Carl Nicks will want something similar. I guess I'm just hoping that they won't spend that much on interior linemen.

It looks like Oakland is letting Gallery walk. The only problem is they didn't like his asking price. Hopefully it wasn't too outrageous, otherwise I think we should take a look.

He's worth a look for sure, but he wouldn't rank as high as:
Nmamdi Asomugha, Mithias Kiwanuka, Carl Nicks, or Johnathan Joseph
But he ranks just below those elite FAs.

You know what, at the end of the day, we need to see what a real offensive coach can do with the players we have as it's obvious their abilities have not been used to the maximum.
I agree with seeing what our own guys can do, but Chilo needs to be replaced. Period.

I just can't understand why Snyder gets a past when we've tried him at every postion for years and he's never played better than spotty. Didn't we draft in 05/06? Yet everyone is ready to kick Rachal to the curb.
P.S. No Gallery please. It's not that he isn't good, it's just that we already have too much money tied up in the OLINE. We should be well over average by now.

I'm not sure what our blocking scheme is going to be this year and it sounds like he wants a lot of money. But could he be the answer at the weak G position our o-line for the right price?
