Maybe he could do to Brady what Brady did to Bledsoe

I have my reasons for asking, but what type of contract can Alex Smith expect from one of these QB-needy teams in FA?

Not even an intelligent guess? C'mon fellas...

Sadly I think Alex will take less money to stay in this crappy division and get revenge on us. Probably Seattle.
SF or Tennessee

So, where do you all think Alex will sign with in the off-season?

What if he goes to Arizona with their spread attack and starts killing it? Or is he gonna stink it up somewhere else?

Autozone.

Nothing is annoying me more this offseason than the complete switch by a large group of niners fans that seriously went from "bench alex, fire singletary! boo hoo hoo!"(same group that likely chanted david carr's name in that one game this year) to "omg I love alex smith tehehehe". Really you think he's coming back?

Or is it the one decent game he had at the end of the year, the one that didn't matter, against a really horrible team? Cmon...

He needs a change of scenery, and I'm sure he'll be decent when he gets one. I'm guessing arizona because derek anderson seems like a young alex smith to me. Doesn't need to make sense lol. I don't know if he'll do great because he still probably couldn't throw deep to fitz. At least when he does get it to him fitzgerald can jump like 10 feet when alex throws way high.

Derek Anderson is older than Alex He turns 28 this year while Alex turns 27

Then straight to Canton. For him, they waive the deal where you have to wait 5 years.

Oh...yeah I should have done my homework. They're twins then. A not-so-dynamic duo.

Anderson will be asked what he thinks about alex coming in and starting over him, and his answer will be "that's fine" repeated until reporters get tired and leave.

Britt was a rookie last year, still learning his craft. This year he blossomed but missed 4 games due to injury and played hurt in 3 others. Don't be fooled by the numbers. This guy is a legit number 1. He has improved his speed and strength this past season. When he was hurt, defenses closed down on Chris Johnson and the Titans struggled.

Bryant, for about half the season, was a threat. After that he quit. He led the league in passes throw to him that were intercepted, mostly due to this lack of will to go up and fight for the ball.

Interestingly enough, Bud Adams has told the GM there to go find a new QB for next year. All the common names, McNabb, Orton, Kolb, are being mentioned there just as they are here. McNabb is questioned due to his age and drop off in performance the last two years. Orton and Kolb will require a draft pick or player in trade and no one is willing to pay what their teams are asking.

Crabtree was a rookie last year who missed OTA's, training camp, pre-season and 5 games in the NFL and still came out and put together a better year than Britt. This year, being the 2nd option on the 49ers, still had 55 catches in a HORRIBLE offensive system. Britt plays under a much more competent Offensive Coordinator and yeah he did miss 4 games due to injury. So Crabtree missed 5 games as a ROOKIE in Jimmy Rayes offense and still put together similar numbers as Britt did this year (his 2nd year in the NFL and under a competent OC) so I fail to see your logic in that Britt is a legit #1 guy and Crabtree somehow isn't

Some of yall are worse on Crabtree than the "Alex Haters" are on Alex and that is ridiculous. The man has been in the NFL for 2 years and everyone wants to blame the coaching staff on Alex for ALL 6 YEARS but then turn around and say a man who plays under the same BS coaching staff (throw Sullivan in there as INEPT) and he STILL MAKES PLAYS after missing SIGNIFICANT off-season time (injury and hold out) is not legit???

Then throw out a guys name and say he is the real deal but when I bring stats and production into the picture, justify it by saying he missed games due to injury and played injured in 3 other games but not even take into account that he was there for EACH OTA's, training camp AND Pre-season while Crabtree wasn't and is producing off of basically just "winging it" on Sundays? You are crazy if you think that will fly.

How about this. Kenny Britt had 42 catches in 11 games which means he is averaging 3.9 catches per game. Over a 16 game season that leaves him with 62.4 (7 more catches than Crabtree as the #1 target with Crabtree being 2nd option on our team). NOT IMPRESSED

In contrast to that, Crabtree missed 5 games AS A ROOKIE, and still put together more catches per game (4.4) than Kenny did in both of his seasons in the NFL

Get out of here with that. I've heard it all now

Great Post.
