This is what I hope happens broken down into each core group. A little wishful thinking and maybe even a few completely ludicrous ideas as well.
Head Coach:
I've got a gut feeling we go after Brian Billick. Based on his response to his extended coverage of 9er games this year. He has great words for the franchise and seems a little too interested for just an analysts sake.
OC: I can't recall if Rick Dennison actually calls the plays for Houston but assuming houston implodes I would think it's time for some house cleaning and it would be a perfect chance to grab a OC of a team that has with the correct RB finally mastered the mix of power run and pass that Gore would thrive in.
DC: I really wish Nolan didn't start this mess we're in. He is an amazing DC, I'm okay with Manusky staying but this shell coverage that gives up 10-15 yards a catch then is one bad tackle away from a big play absolutely has to go.
Offense
QB:
Based on my theory of getting Billick, Alex walks, we trade Carr, resign Troy(Billick drafted him after all), promote Nate Davis to active roster. Resigning Troy indicates we go after a 4 year starter from college, a mid to late round pick. Proven play making ability like Tyrod Taylor.
RB/FB:
I really hope for late round pick on Stanley Havili from USC. A youthful blocker might enliving our running game maybe even help convince Gore to stick around after 2012.
Center:
We absolutely need to address center this year and this is the year to do it. 20+ FA Centers and the draft.
OL:
Nothing to insane, weed out the vets that are too old and bring in some younger guys.
WR:
We need a deep threat and I cant hate on any of our receivers skills or production because of our anemic play calling. The one thing I can hate on is our size, we have no physically imposing receiver. Our tallest(ziegler, 6'3, 186 pounds) is only 1 pound heavier then our shortest(Kyle Williams, 5'11, 185) and they are both buried on our depth chart. Maybe the new HC will go young and draft a solid WR but I could see and correct me if I'm wrong on contract status Sydney Rice or Brad Smith happening. Rice is especially lilkely, Minnesota has 8 other FAs on the defensive side of the ball that any one of them could get the franchise tag just as easily, Ray Edwards, Brian Robison, Chad Greenway, Ben Leber, Lito Sheppard among them.
TE:
Nothing needed.
Defense.
It's really sad to me that our "top 5" D really needs some fixing at every position, most noticeably cornerback.
CB:
If we don't plan on using our first pick on CB we will find a perfect in FA. Our biggest problem is coverage not turn overs so someone like Ike Taylor could fit the bill.
S:
It is highly likely that Goldson will walk and I'm not convinced I want Reggie Smith and Taylor Mays out on the field at the same time. With a surplus of safeties out there I think we will be okay if not better off if he does walk.
LB/DE:
I don't think we need anything drastic, resigning LaBoy and looking at for a successor for Takeo or at least make plans for next year.
NT: Aubrayo is gone, we haven't offered him a new contract and the end of the year is 2 weeks away. So if RJF is his successor we will need a new backup.

He's a free agent so no need to cut him.

I do not think we make playoffs in this so we have the 8th pick. I also think the realization that the Yorks need to win to get their stadium will cause some massive changes and a massive spending spree.
1. we should lure Mike Holmgren away from the browns and bring him in at the same position.
2. fire singletary and the entire staff, other then rathman and solari i believe.
3. Hire Jim Harbaugh and all his staff other then his rb's coach and oline coach. We switch to the WCO and a 4-3 on defense.
4. cut/do not resign- dashon goldson, alex smith, troy smith, aubrayo franklin, david baas, ted ginn, takeo spikes.
5. resign/restructure manny lawson, nate clements
6. sign Vincent Jackson, Matt Hasslebeck, Brandon Mebane, Johnathan Joseph
7. A big change I think for the offseason will be Anthony Davis' switch to the left side. i think an offseason in the weight room is going to bring a huge change.
8. draft
1st- Cam Newton- our developmental guy behind hasslebeck for a year or two. He brings hype and attention just what the Dorks want.
2nd- Ras-I-Dowling- provides another talented corner
3rd- Jabaal Sheard- has put up some good numbers at pit. has good size for a 4-3 de.
I do not know the prospects well enough yet so ill stop here
9. Qb- Hasslebeck, Newton, Davis
Rb- Gore, Dixon, Westbrook
Wr- Vincent Jackson, Crabtree, Morgan, Zeigler, kyle williams
Te- VD, Walker, Nate
Lt- Anthony Davis, Barry Sims
Lg- Iuptai, Wragge
C- Heitmann, Wallace
Rg- Rachal, Rookie
Rt- Staley, Snyder
Re- Brooks, Sheard
Dt- Mebane, Soap, rookie
Dt- Ricky Jean-Francois, Raymac
Le- Justin Smith, Raymac
rolb- Bowman, Rookie
Mlb, Willis, Rookie
Lolb- Lawson, Briggs
Cb-Joseph, Dowling
Cb- Spencer, Adams, Brown
SS- Taylor Mays, Curtis Taylor
Fs, Nate Clements, Reggie Smith
may have missed some stuff on the resign.
And now we stomp on our opposition for years to come
