I like John Fox. What about jeff Fisher? (assuming he gets fired)

fisher is a possibility but we should target an offensive mastermind for hc, fox would be a signing and hes not offensive minded

I think if you have a good OC coordinator your argument is null if they left the OC do his thing. Look at belichick, he's a Defensive minded Head coach, yet his offense is killing it! I think having a strong OC and a QB who can lead is all we need!

New England currently has no Offensive Coordinator.

Quote:
Belichick is a devoted student of the game; during the offseason, he has spent significant amounts of time visiting with other programs to learn from their experiences. For example, he has studied the Navy run offense, sought Bill Walsh (in past years) to understand more about the San Francisco 49ers as an organization and the West Coast offense as a system, and spent time with Jimmy Johnson to learn about drafting and contract negotiations.

Similarly, Belichick paid several visits to former University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer.

^^^ this is what makes him a great coach.

damn i wish he was our hc

would rather buck up and spend the cash on Mankins, and keep Davis at OT. Not sure Davis can become a good OG

Why does everybody want us to sign Mcnabb? The guy is garbage and I'd much rather still have Alex Smith

Good lord, some of you people are just sad............

Their stats are pretty similar on the year, but mcnabb has many more turnovers

That's this year only. Last year, Aubrayo Franklin had a great season, but no one was saying they would rather have him over Vince Wilfork or the Steelers NT.

A QB who is having his worse season vs. a QB who is having one of his best, and the stats are about equal? I'd rather have McNabb.

I dont think i am going out on a limb by saying McNabb's career is on the down turn and I think a lot of it has to do bc he isnt in Andy Reid's system anymore.

I dont want Smith or McNabb starting for the Niners.

It may be on the downturn, but I think it's more a case of McNabb isn't 25 years old and can't do it by himself like how he did from 1999 - 2003. He has Chris Cooley and Santana Moss, no O-line, and no defense (6 games giving up 30 or more points, and 2 more where they gave up 27). If we got McNabb, I'd expect a guy that could give us a 1.5 to 1 TD ratio, average about 230 yards passing (he averaged nearly 260 this season with LESS talent than the 49ers have on offense), and can help bring along our QB of the future. Put this team around McNabb this season, and we're probably 8-6 at this point. Not glowing, but certainly better than 5-9.

That is not saying much considering Rex Grossman just had 322 yards and 4 TDs this week for the Redskins.

McNabb is the biggest NFL turnover machine right now

The best franchise going right now and for the past decade has been the Pats. I wouldn't mind bringing in a trio of former Pats coaches:

HC: Charlie Weiss, he has KC looking pretty balanced and Matt Cassel is having his best year as a pro.

OC: Josh McDaniels, and extension of the HC and another great offensive mind. Did wonders for orton and Lloyd.

DC: Eric Mangini if he is let go and he probably will be.

If we want to got the WCO rout

HC: Gruden

OC: Gary Kubiak will most likly be fired.

DC: whoever Gruden wants maybe a guy like Wade.

In order of operations:

1) John Fox (HC) - 2010 record not representative of his caliber as a head coach

2) Josh McDaniel (OC) - Best available option; And wont be getting any HC opportunities anytime soon

3) Kevin Kolb (QB-Trade) - Deadly accurate with intermediate passing game; Perfect extension of the coordinator

4) Matt Light (OT-FA) - Bumping Davis inside to replace Rachal would be an ideal fit

5) Patrick Peterson (CB - Draft) - Draft's top defensive talent at a position of need

Thoughts?

Updated:

3) Carson Palmer (QB-Trade) - Price tag would likely undercut Kolb's and clearly more accomplished... not to mention Peter King has already thrown our name in the ring - NFLTradeRumors

^ I don't think we'd have to give up any picks for Carson. During the game yesterday, they were saying that the Bengals weren't going to bring him back next year. Ironically, he went out and played his best game of he year, even with TO and Ocho out.

Fact is, Shipley, Simpson, Gresham are all better WR/TE options than TO and 85 at this point in there careers. They only play those two cuz of their egos.
