Yeah, yeah........f**k McChoke. Forget Vick the dog killer.
We dont need these guys.....we have all the talent we need on our roster.
15 INTS
10 FUMBLES
77.1 QB RATING
that's talent?
Michael Vick 2006
13 INTS
11 FUMBLES
73.1 QB RATING
Everyone's entitled to a bad season. Whats troubling is when it becomes a bad habit eg Alex Smith's career. McNabb has had a decent career with one bad year. Apparently, it didnt affect Vick, so why should we be concerned with McNabb ?
because mcnabb is on the downhill of his career vick is in his prime
Based on what ? Age ? McNabb's 34, Vick is 31. Stats ? This is McNabb's first bad year. He was a probowler last season.
I agree that we cant get a "career" out of McNabb, but its not out of the question to get at least 2-3 good years out of him ala Rich Gannon in Oakland.....
I would not be averse to bringing him in, but I do wonder why two great head coaches have dumped him. If we bring him in I want a good back up just in case.

i live close to philly and my wife is an eagles fan. therefore i have watched every eagles game for practically 6 years. with that said McNabb is a F'n beast. Reid had 2 other options in Kolb and Vick, the Redskins flat out suck they do not have 1/2 the talent we have.
if we had traded for McNabb and had a decent offensive coach this team would crush with Gore/Davis/Crabs/Westbrooke/Walker to many weapons. Who does DM have in Wash? no1

According to a local Philadelphia radio station today, Redskins HC Mike Shanahan doesn't guarantee QB Donovan McNabb will return next season. Shanahan then went on to talk about drafting a QB, and from McNabb's big contract extension, only $3.5 million is guaranteed!

I think the answer might be to go trade for Kolb. I doubt the Eagles will keep him as their backup long term.
Wow some people have lost their mind.
You have to be aware of how toxic the situation is around Mcnabb in Wash. Egomaniac Sr and Egomaniac Jr at HC and OC. No running game, not much at Wr.

Toxic situation or not...McNabb is horrible. Horrible.
People need to remember that this isn't 2003. He doesn't have it anymore. "Hey you know what...I hear Joe Montana is available. He was once a great player, so that means for sure he is a great player now!" Please find the sarcasm in that. Past performance means nothing when you don't have the physical tools anymore.
The "well at least he isn't Alex Smith" argument is exactly why we'd end up in the same position we are now.
Let me make this clear...
We are not looking to simply do better than Alex Smith. We are looking for a franchise QB. Alex Smith has NOTHING to do with that equation. Comparing a new guy to Alex Smith is complete BS. Just like comparing Jeff Garcia to Steve Young was complete BS. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.
McNabb is barely NFL quality anymore. Fact. And even if he was, he'd still only be a short term solution. A short term solution to what?? A super bowl run?! This team isn't just a veteran QB away from anything. Get it straight.
Get a rookie. Play him. Take the lumps. And be better for it. Stop dicking around with has beens.

I think Kolb would be a better option to look into.
But McNabb should be on the shortlist of QB's to go after if he is released no question.

you people are stupid to say he wouldnt be an upgrade...
1)Washington is awful
2)We need a change at quarterback drastically
3)Should he be released he could easily upgrade a team with good receivers ala AZ.
4)He was in the pro_bowl last season
5) We have solid weapons all the way around
6)we will make the playoffs so chances are we wont get LUCK
7) NO TO CAM NEWTON!
8) alternative to the situation- we miss out on mcnabb but get Ryan Mallet in return :)
just sayin
QB- MCNABB
RB-GORE/WESTBROOK
WR:CRABTREE,MORGAN,ZIEGLER,GINN
TE: DAVIS,WALKER
pretty niice looking team next season with an improved LINE AND QB..

its funny how quickly people forget mcnabb's resume, just 2 yrs ago he took philly to ANOTHER nfc title game and last yr even though he had a bad wild card game the cowboys were due to win a play off game any ways. mcnabb in dc has no support from his coach and oc and he doesnt have near the play makers he had in philly. i didnt see any qb having success in dc this yr, put mcnabb in a structured team with talent around him and he can have a good season. mcnabb on the 9ers next yr with a totally new coaching staff i dont see how we dont win the division next yr

McNabb is still better than any of the QB's we have currently on our roster. I would bring DMac in in a heartbeat. He was not a good fit in DC but that does not mean the man can't play in the right situation.

Amazing that some people would rather have Alex Smith back than take a chance with McNabb.
I think some of you guys hit the nail on the head. Imagine if Zona picked up McNabb. You dont think the Fitz-McNabb combo would be something to worry about ? A QB can take a team a long ways.........Zona is a great example of this, and I think so is SF.
McNabb will be here ONLY to fill the void between now until the next draftee can develop.
The way some of you talk it seems like we're looking for a replacement for Joe Montana.
