McNabb May Be Available After All.......

Even though Donovan McNabb signed an extension with the Redskins earlier in the season, there is a clause in the contract that the Redskins can cut ties with him by season's end without any financial obligations. Mike Shanahan has hinted that Grossman may get a shot to play by season's end, and there are grumblings in the locker room that McNabb is getting a little antsy about his situation there.

Now I know Alex's fanboys will likely come out and claim that Alex is eons better than McNabb, and we're better off giving him a 6 year extension (thus making the 6 year plan into a 12 year one), but the reality is there is no quarterback on our roster that deserves to be a starter next season.

Assuming that Sing is gone and Gruden takes over, it would be great to get McNabb in here. Remember, Gruden revived the careers of Rich Gannon and Brad Johnson in both Oakland and TB, respectively. He knows how to play to quarterbacks strengths. In both Gannon and Johnson, Gruden had to put up with QBs that boasted weak arms and lack of mobility. Yet, both excelled under his offensive tutelage.

A McNabb/Gruden combo would keep us competitive in the NFC West for the next 2 aseasons (at least) until the "one" can be developed.

Yeah, yeah........f**k McChoke. Forget Vick the dog killer.

We dont need these guys.....we have all the talent we need on our roster.
He's been very up and down this year. He's playing behind a crappy o line, and not the greatest cast of offensive play makers. He makes all the deep throws and makes big plays. His problem seems to be that he just throws too many passes in the dirt. The easy wide open passes for 4 or 5 yards that keep drives alive. I would take him over Carson Palmer, but I wouldn't break the bank. Two year contract at the most.

Mike Shanahan is real close to being ran out of DC already. This isn't Denver and the media and fans here is destroying this guy everyday

Everyone's entitled to a bad season. Whats troubling is when it becomes a bad habit eg Alex Smith's career. McNabb has had a decent career with one bad year. Apparently, it didnt affect Vick, so why should we be concerned with McNabb ?

Based on what ? Age ? McNabb's 34, Vick is 31. Stats ? This is McNabb's first bad year. He was a probowler last season.

I agree that we cant get a "career" out of McNabb, but its not out of the question to get at least 2-3 good years out of him ala Rich Gannon in Oakland.....

McNabb is awful. He would constantly bounce passes at receiver's feet. I have a few friends that are fans of the Eagles, and they weren't bothered by McNabb staying in the division.

Also, not counting this year because it isn't over and his rookie year, out of 10 seasons in Philly, McNabb played 16 games only 4 times. He's older now, can his body take a full season now when it seems he's had trouble with that when he was younger.

Mcnabb is almost as inaccurate as Troy Smith.
