Don't extend Goldson

the secondary is a wreck.
the best cover guy is spencer who is solid but not all world and nate could still have his lockdown moments as bump n run corner but gets harder when ya cant run like ya were once able to. i like others would like to see him at FS but idk know if thats gonna happen either, he has said in the past that he would rather stay a CB. who's to say that he would be a good FS anyway? isnt one of the primary concerns that there isn't enough speed on the back end? nate likes to look in the backfield and is one of the more aggressive db's in the league, will/would these qualities help or hurt? biting on a double move when your the last line of D aint a good thing...not having the range to get over the top on a consistent basis is not a good thing.

as for goldson, i just don't think hes the answer at FS imho. he just cant get over the top; i still think he takes bad angles, and all though he's a thumper he doesn't secure the tackle as often as i would like. i don't remember any glaring bad plays when put 1v1 coverage so idk. he may be better suited for SS because he does have some ball skill and man coverage ability that could however lead to problems for...

mays......fill in the reasons why..... im getting tired of typing.

this is the first season smith got some real playing time so i guess the jury still out but my .02 cents is i just thought that he didn't do anything to distinguish himself form the pack.

ya ya ya scheme makes a world of difference. still think they need more bodies to push the best players to the top too

Hell u guys, let's just let everyone walk and start over everyone sucks,r u serious Franklin is a stud, and other then a few safeties in the league, goldson is solid.
We didn't get beat deep down the middle, most of the time it was bad play by the corners. Or no pass rush worth a crap.
Yep I agree I think Smith is better, alot of big plays happend on his side this season.
Trade him to Nolan

with bad over the top coverage
for the right price i would keep him on
People have to realize Goldson played hurt all year.

IMO when healthy he's the best safety we got.
smith is much better at coverage however i would much rather have clements back there

Goldson is ALOT better then most people put him out to be.

It's funny how quickly people forgot about his 2009 season...when he was a new fan favorite...now that he has a down year suddenly you don't want him?

He had 1 good year so it's not like we should let a bad year slide because he is Ronnie Lott. You really want him if he commands Antrel Rolle money? Hurt or not 40 million is too much to even think about.

I'm curious to know if Dashon Goldson or his agent ever started he wanted that kind of money? We also assume guys like Franklin, Lawson, and now Goldson want these huge, top-5 deals. I'm not saying it's false, but it seems like many people have assumed this is true.
Agreed. He'll want too much money for one good year of play. Doesn't warrant the contract he wants.

It's the trend of the NFL. Everybody player wants a contract similar or greater than the highest paid player at their position. It's a big reason why we have the current CBA issues. Players want more money and franchises can't seem to generate enough revenue. Not a very good business model.
When you give a 15 yard cushion on Tony Gonzales on 4th and 10 TWICE, you deserve to be f**king BENCHED.

Let Marques Colston catch the ball to put the Saints in FG range.

Missed probably 30+ tackles -- one that lead to a late Rams TD (where he was totally called out by Billick in the booth lol)

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, D. Garbage!
