Draft a QB, we're entering a QB-led draft with a harvest of young talented prospects (some that might even fall to the second round like Pat Devlin -who might a huge steal/first-day starter; Delaware is an NFL royalty college).
Also, Michael Vick is overrated (and whoever bought him after a Lions win needs to wait until the end of the season), and Dixon has been injury prone since his days @ Oregon.

I'm not. Smith was a beast in the Saints game. I'm willing to give him the rest of this season and if he keeps improving and showing flashes of carrying the team at times AND we make the playoffs I want to re-sign him. Dixon's not that good and the Eagles might not let Vick go. Seriously, Smith is a better player than Dixon.

i think he will do great this year
the difference between week 1 and week 2 was obviously getting the plays in on time anyone who denies that really doesnt know football so if had to bet which alex will show up as long as the plays come in early it will be the week 2 alex
however if he is not teh answer we should go look in the draft get luck/locker/mallet or ponder in that order

I think this is a subject best brought back for discussion about half way point through the season. If Smith plays well, there is no reason to discuss further - you should never change QB when the going is well, period. If Smith fails, then yeah, it'll be a lively subject.

I have to agree here. If Smith ends up proving without a doubt that he can carry this team, he will likely remain a career-long Niner and have one of the best comeback stories of all time. He deserves this season to prove it.

Drafting a quarterback would set the team back another 3-4 years. Gore isnt getting any younger, and a lot of talent on this roster would be either A) past their prime, or B) entering contract years by the time that QB would develop.
If Smith fails, our best bet is to pick up a semi-proven player through free agency to keep the dream alive until further notice. McNabb would have been a great addition this offseason, and I guarantee we would have been 2-0 going into KC if we had him on our roster. Some people favored Vick, but the guys hanging off Smith's sack mocked the idea, thinking that Vick was a deadbeat. Guess who's laughing now ?
Pathetic........

If you are such a fan of Vick, he plays for the Eagles now...Love the way you stated your opinion as fact there too, it is one reason you are so popular here.
