Good move I know he's old but would have been smart to being him back for more year imo. Ossie knows exactly what he is doing. In a passing league you gotta have depth at the corner.

Harris was unwilling to sign last week, so perhaps the Ravens added more guaranteed money to the offer. Harris, turning 36 in August and coming off ACL surgery, will add veteran depth with Lardarius Webb and Fabian Washington coming off ACL injuries of their own. Harris won't be guaranteed a roster spot.
Really wish we held onto Harris, he was one one the reasons why we had a good (OK decent) secondary. The rich just got richer.
I can't locate any specifics regarding the contract, though I can't imagine the Ravens have much guaranteed money tied to Harris.
The Ravens have a habit of collecting veteran defensive backs. They recently signed both Ken Lucas and Ken Hamlin. Like Harris, neither drew much interest this off-season.
From BaltimoreRavens.com:

Harris’ veteran status will be needed considering that Domonique Foxworth and Chris Carr were previously the elder statesmen with five years of experience each.
Harris also provides insurance to the group as Fabian Washington and Lardarius Webb continue their recovery from season-ending knee injuries.
Al Harris was the oldest Cornerback to play an NFL game at the age of 35 in 2009. Production from Cornerbacks drops off significantly after the age of 34. I can't imagine Walt Harris being much of a factor this season, especially coming off his ACL injury.

he is old and coming off a major injury, we need to let our younger players play and see what they have. That being said, I wish him the best, he was nails for 2 years with us.

One of the best under the radar FA signings I can remember. You will be missed Harris.

Will James seems like a training camp body. Despite playing in all 16 games last season for Detroit, his health seems like too much of a concern to keep him on the active roster.
Karl Paymah on the other hand should provide excellent depth behind Brown this season. He was out of scheme in Minnesota and brings speed (he ran a 4.3 at the NFL combine) and size to the backfield. His downfall has always been playing zone. Hopefully, Vance Joseph can correct some of his shortcomings.
Walt Harris would have been the fourth Cornerback off the sidelines, playing against slot receivers. In the NFC West, that means the likes of Donnie Avery, Golden Tate and Early Doucet.

I would rather him over Karl Paymah and the guy who broke his pubic bone.

Good for him. It said he moved well. I read they offered him a contract prior and he turned it down. Probably offered minimum money.
