I think we're set on offense, which sounds funny but I don't know what we can add there at this point.
As we sit here today I think looking at Adalius Thomas couldn't hurt and we need to be ready to pounce on any player that could improve our CB corps.

What can we do in Free Agency between now and the start of the season?

Nothing. Given the uncertainty of what's happening after this season, it's remarkable Willis even got an extension.
We finally have enough talent to not have to try to plug in other teams' castoffs, and there's even less out there than usual.

Oh, and as for Thomas, why? Where would he play? LaBoy already filled that hole for 1/4 of the price and Thomas is FAR from the player we remember from Baltimore.

We can't do anything. We're just fans. I'd recommend you buy season tickets.

Keep wishing because it isn't going to happen. Don't want and don't need him.

If adalius would take 1.6M, the same LaBoy got, then sure, and let them battle for a spot, but other than that, no thanks.
Maybe Atogwe, but idk, we have 3 quality Safeties(Lewis, Goldson and Mays). Where would he fit.
Would a former franchise player, on a team who doesnt wanna pay him, become a ST player, doubt it.[/right]

Why Thomas? Because Haralson, Brooks, Lawson & Laboy is the top of our OLB depth chart . . . which is average at best IMO. Also, Thomas can play outside or inside so he could slide into Wilhelm's roster spot and provide depth and experience across the board.
Yes he is far from the player we remember with the Ravens but that doesn't mean he couldn't upgrade our roster.

You're statement is totally inaccurate. Thomas hasn't ever started at the Will or Sam positions in the NFL. In Baltimore, he lined up at various positions, but only to mask his intention to rush the passer. He never had to actually execute positional assignments. In college, he played defensive end in the 4-3.
Placing a 32 year old, 270lb linebacker like Thomas inside would be completely counter to what the 49ers currently do.
Finally, let's look at the players mentioned above and what they've accomplished over the past three seasons.
Adalius Thomas - 32 Years Old

Parys Haralson - 26 Years Old

Manny Lawson - 25 Years Old

Ahmad Brooks - 26 Years Old

Travis Laboy - 28 Years Old

Aside from Travis Laboy (who was signed prior to the Patriots' release of Thomas and is behind Brooks on the depth chart), I really don't see how Thomas would benefit this group. His age and exaggerated drop off in production leads me to believe that his broken arm from 2008 is still bothering him. I won't even address his attitude issues.
