In all honesty, I like the David Carr signing and I think Carr is a decent backup if not someone that can take the starting spot from Alex Smith...

But Justin Fargas?

There are far better FA running backs out there.

He's going to visit the Chiefs today. Maybe the Cheifs sign Jones and Fargas.
It just reminds me of last year where we had a great need for WR... and we signed Brandon Jones. Was anyone satisifed after that pickup? If they're just going to nibble around the edges, I'd kind of rather them do nothing at all and stop wasting money. What does Fargas bring that we don't already have?

Use the money on other needed position! Coffee is young and will have a big improvement that will give us a solid duo with Gore.
Beerows to address niners interest in fargas in a few minutes in knbr. The radio is reporting interest but hasn't confirmed the scheduled visit report

If Fargas signs with us, I don't think it means the end of M-Rob.

Besides his special teams skills, M-Rob has the ability to flex between RB and FB. In fact, I would love to see M-Rob play exclusively at FB since he has all the physical abilities to be productive at the position. Size, speed, power - could be a good combo for Smith to utilize.

I think Norris may be the odd man out.
I hope not.

They'll probably sign Jones, then Fargas ends up with us.
Gore / Coffee / Fargas

We could have a decent ground attack with those three backs, MRob wont be able to beat out Fargas, but his special teams play would be missed, but having Fargas would also provide good depth and he could start in a pinch if we needed him to
Im wondering if this is a Rathman request...
I still don't trust the nfln news and notes. This report hasn't been confirmed by one site on the internet including nfl.com who said fargas has not mentioned speaking with the niners. Beerows was also Just on the radio & said he cant confirm there will be a visit to the niners cuz fargas' agent won't return his calls

NFL Netowork news and notes shouldn't be a source. There isn't one other site on the web that has confirmed that Fargas is coming in for a visit.

He is in Kansas City today and might schedule a visit with us after then, but right now everyon is reporting "interest" but no visit can be confirmed.

The title to this thread is very misleading.

Don't spoil my fun. I have dreams of Carr handing off the ball to Fargas in 49er uniforms.
