The "report" said that ESPN and NFLN were reporting that the 49ers, Seahawks and Cowboys contacted the Ravens.

Can't find a thing.

Me neither.

After further consideration and due to the unfortunate David Carr talk, I've decided to re-open this thread here.
Doubt the Ravens trade him. Especially after finally getting Flaco a weapon in Bolden. Ozzie Newsome won't take a step back by trading away a stud LT.

But it really isn't considered trading if we sign him to an offer, we just would have to give them compensation. Sure they can match the offer but I think he has the right to accept or refuse either one.

sooo is it official that we are a leading candidate?
or has no one found a legit source yet?

Wrong, Baltimore has "right of first refusal," which means that if they match the offer, he stays. What would be the point of him being a Restricted Free Agent if they didn't have any power over whether or not he stayed?
I'm sure we can negotiate to give them the 17th pick instead of the 13 th

Didn't realize Gaither is a RFA.

No! If they match the offer. He is theirs. He does not get to choose which team he wants to play for between the two. We pretty much would have to offer him a contract they won't match.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I haven't found a legit source stating that we are the leading candidate. I've only seen speculation saying that we should give up a 1st round pick for Gaither, by Pat Kirwan. But nonetheless a link was provided and it should be open for discussion.

No, we can add a poison pill to the contract. Like if Gaither plays 8 games or more in Balt. the total contract is guaranteed. That's what the vikings did to get Hutch and what the Seahawks did to get Burlesson.
